Edit: The diagram above is not the correct one for OP's truck. The correct diagram is in post #13.

    4 run, 2 don't
    @ControlCar

If you mean the cap itself, just buy a new one (it's old as hell).

There was a write-up on mud on how to rebuild it though (makeshift).

    New truck for me(well Son)

    Pwr steering fluid is black
Going to flush and clean screen located inside the reservoir
There is a o-ring between the reservoir and pump housing
    Likely oring is 25yrs old
I don’t like wrenching twice bc of a $2 part!(just rather replace the 1st time)

    I see a part#
    90301-11016

put that # in and says will not fit 96 2.4L
Looked on diagrams, shows your original pix (of external reservoir…not on top of pump)
Bottom thread shows same diagram# 44362A that I posted originally
    Called a straight pin???

Yeah I saw that the diagram I posted up was incorrect after you put up picture of your reservoir. I checked out the threads that I linked in posts 9 and 10 and I think that 90301-11016 might be the o-ring you are looking for. But Im not 100%. A few of the guys who posted up in those threads said it might be best to buy a universal o-ring kit.

Here is a diagram for your pump:

    Jeez
Looks like this 2.4L is a Unicorn

while looking for fuel line after FPR to install cheap inline FP gauge…..
I found the freakin fuel filter
    Under the intake manifold
    Ugh

Everything I have seen online was the ‘typical’ on the frame rail
    This project will be interesting!

    thanks again Stock!!!!!!!!!!

    Update
    That O-ring part# was correct
Cleaned the reservoir screen (2 cans of brake cleaner)
flushed pwr steering system, took 2.5 qts of ATF

just in case anyone wants to know….
The front bolt of the reservoir
Everything I saw(and worked on before)
This front bolt would come out through the one of the holes on the pulley
    It didn’t.
I could access the bolt, but would back out into the pulley
I had to take pulley off to get bolt out
Besides a 2inch gash on my pinky, everything working great
    Thanks for everyone’s help !!

Does anyone know if 90301-11016 O-ring will work for a 2.7L? I am about to do the power steering fluid flush/reservoir screen cleaning and replacing the return line and adding a filter onto the return line on my '99. I have been trying to find the O-ring for 2-3 weeks now and all of the information I find online is conflicting. Every single Toyota parts website I go to tells me that part # does not fit my vehicle. But when I talked to people from 2 different parts departments at dealers, they tell me the original part # for my truck (90080-30034) was superseded by 90301-11016.

To make it even more confusing/irritating, when I go to several Toyota parts websites and look up the 90301-11016 it tells me which part #s it replaced. And my original part # 90080-30034 is not listed. So literally every piece of information I can find on this thing is contradictory with other information.

I am getting pretty annoyed that a tiny little $3 piece of rubber is preventing me from doing this job.

Any info. would be greatly appreciated!
