Hello everyone! I have a 2006 Toyota Tacoma 4L and my question is what is the normal RPM on park, cold start and when the engine is hot and also the normal one on the idle reverse/drive for the idle mine is 800-900RPM when its hot and cold start on park is 2000RPM then it drops at 1450RPM when it gets warmer.

That's high for the 4.0L, cold start should be ~1000-1800 depending on temperature and it should come down to 700-800 once the coolant temp reaches about 176F, in gear should be 500-700.
    Did this just start?

Cold start RPM begin at 2000 and then drops at 1400 and when I idle it goes to 800 RPM I don’t know what should I do to get the normal RPM

So it's at 800 in gear at operating temp (~180F)?
Where is it in park at operating temp?

This is just a hunch but unplug the power steering pressure switch and see if it returns to normal.
Did it just start doing this?

You mean throttle body? 2066 does't have an IAC.
If that's the case you need to disconnect the battery for a few minutes, reconnect it and let it idle up to operating temp and for a few min after that so it relearns it's idle.

Disconnect the battery for a bit (15min or so).

    Connect the battery.

Turn key to ON but do not start the truck.

Smoothly press the gas pedal all the way to the floor, hold it there, then smoothly release the pedal, do this 3x (whole sweep from fully depressed to released should take ~ 2 seconds, 1 sec down, hold on floor for a half second, then up in a second)

Turn key off and pull out of ignition.

Start the truck up and drive for a bit for the computer to relearn.

If things are still idiling high after a few full heat cycles and ~ 100mi of driving then we can start diagnosing.

Idle should be ~ 550 rpms in gear, 750 rpms in park/neutral as per the coding in the ecu.

No problem, I'd do the battery disconnect first that will likely solve your problem.

The PCM learns and keeps a memory of throttle position (typically called throttle body idle airflow compensation) required for a specific idle speed it wants to see, as the throttle body gets buildup over time the PCM compensates for it and stores it in memory. When the battery is disconnected on most vehicles it clears this learned memory and it will restart it's learning once conditions are met (varies by manufacturer but Toyota won't begin it's idle learn strategy until the coolant temp is 176F).

When you clean the throttle body without disconnecting the battery especially if it was very dirty the PCM is still basing idle throttle position of it's learned value and it will be high until it eventually relearns, if you disconnect the battery with a dirty throttle body the idle will be very low or it may even stall because the PCM "forgets" it's learned idle.

I have 2009 mine sits at ab 1900 coild then 12-14 in gear and 800 in gear idle, if you leave your truck on in park for long enough it will go upp and down in idle to correct temperature and stuff like that through the truck but only by a few hundred rpms this is completely normal.
