I have done the solo diff bench press method to get it in. Would not reccomend that to even my worst enemy.

I'm good with another 4x2 Tacoma. If I was buying it long term, then 4x4 for sure.

I'm adding a tow package, long bed, and V6. Covers my current short term needs. Won't be using either truck (Tacoma or F150) for offroad use, only reason I went for 4x4 with the Ford was because buying a truck I'll grow into with a second kid, and didn't want to chain up to be in a driveway ever again. With chains I did fine, and I have no plans of taking it to the snow again, so I'm tossing my money on high residual value instead. A little more with the 4x4, but not out of proportion with the extra cost. $2k on one end, $2k on the other, and I went 4 years before being a 4x2 bit me in the ass.

Yeah but 4x4 offers so much more versatility and its easy to say "I'm not keeping it" now, but then 4 years down the road you realize you want it and you're stuck with another 4x4. I went through about a car every year and half before I got the Tacoma and thought I'd be doing the same thing until I found I loved it. Boo at 2WD

 

this, i didnt expect to have the runner as long as i did but were on year 4 and like it more and more

 

Not keeping it long term, no matter what. So that's where I went decision-wise.

Works for me. I'll still hang with you guys at the mall. I'll ride with @Bentrodder on the way to Sbux.

I'm just glad I'm getting more bed space, and a bigger motor.

The proverbial cherry on top is I get another color other than white, which is uncharted territory for me. Everything I've ever had is white.

 

anyone else know someone who does vinyl wraps? Jimmy's guy apparently doesnt want my money anymore.

id rather have a white vehicle, easy to keep clean and easy to color match to.
