They are so gorgeous. I need to fish for trout more often. Would LOVE to get a big brown (especially through the ice).

No shit!? Damn you ain't messing around. Good luck up there! Try to get some big catfish while you're up there. lol. Folks routinely pull out 10+ cats while bass fishing out there.

josh Adams. he is new at it. i know his pops. . its the main reason i am paying for the entire trip. made no sense to get half cost from buddy, if the new kid sucks at his job. hahha..

the kids website is pretty good, and he sounded damn professional on the phone. he better not laugh at my casting abilities. his tip is contingent on it. :D

Fresh delta largemouth/spotted bass, broccoli and garlic bread for dinner.

Super last minute afternoon delta trip with my brother today before the cold officially rolls in tomorrow. We did awesome as usual with around 30 bass caught.

i dont really LOVE my new spinning rod. it's a 7'3" Medium rod. it feels much stiffer, and the tip is super fast. the handle sucks, cuz it is so thin. i like a beefier grip.

so..in a moment of weakness, i ordered a new one. my wife walked in, so i quickly switched over to a porn-site so i wouldnt get yelled at. i got this one coming..it has that cool tab at the bottom to hook the drop-shot weight. right now i use my wife's pony tail holder. less than ideal.

Phenix Maxim..A.K.A. "because i couldnt afford the GLoomis i really wanted"

What’s the rod you don’t like that you have right now?

Good choice with the Phenix though. I’ve owned a couple Phenix rods and currently have an M1 Phenix rod I use for my soft plastic/finesse fishing. It’s a good rod, but a bit stiff and “top heavy” for being a medium action. My Daiwa Tatula medium action spinning rod is definitely better overall for finesse fishing.

its a SIXGILLS Akylos. don't ask me to pronounce that. ACK-LOS probably. i'll probably put my salt water spinning on it and see if i can hork out a halibut or something. i got it CHEAP (free) at their buy one get one sale. well, it felt free, i still probably got hosed from a retail standpoint. i know they didnt lose money.

its okay. i hit up all the local shops but everyone is so sold out. hench the mail order hail mary. i really struggled between MED and MED-LIGHT. i hope i dont end up regretting the Phenix.. but the Akylos, the handle is so thin and slick. even the reel nut is slippery.

I have a few of them. I like them. But their medium is definitely close to heavy.

This is very easily my favorite and go to rod.
It has been an effective companion for years. Expensive initially but I have never regretted it for a moment.
