    Considering I would no longer fit in the garage with a pair of beef bars (GFC's crossbars) and ski racks on top of the GFC, I’m looking into other options. Curious to see/hear other ideas out there for mounting ski racks. I’m thinking about going vertical or slightly canted on my other swing arm. What have others done? Thoughts?

    yakima has a vertical hitch rack.. you can take ideas from it and maybe convert the roof C clamp mounts to vertical

    @andrewtheadventurer
    I thought about going the hitch mounted route, but my receiver is now behind my plate and I could see there being issues there...

    @Rock Lobster

    Thought about that too but I'm loving the spare tire trash bag. By far the simplest, yet most effective mod yet. I could probably move that to the swingout though :der:

    I wonder if you could find some kind of horizontal side mount solution?
    Sort of like a wakeboard rack?

    Why couldnt you bolt a pseudo receiver to the plate on the swingout and use a hitch rack?

    Are you a shortbed? With my wedge camper I just throw the skis in the bed.

    I also saw a pretty slick looking setup on a GFC last summer where they bolted a traditional ski rack to one of the side door panels. Only catch is you’d have to drill your GFC doors.

    Yea I have a shortbed. It's frustratingly short. I thought about going on a side panel but didn't want to void warranties or anything, and I doubt the struts would handle even the weight of the empty racks.

    I like ski displays. Much easer than getting out and looking in vehicle windows for skis.

    Lot's of road salt and dirt exposure to skis if hauling on vertical rack on the rear. I haul mine in the bed or install a Thule tub if we are loading up of a bigger trip.

    @TacoPlatter The idea is to still fit in the garage, otherwise I would go that route.

    Of course. Then I'd look for a low profile roof rack. or similar -- works well if you have the accessory roof rack.
