Non "Sport" owners- how did you get your Sport hood?

I really want to get that extra HP that the scoop adds



All joking aside I really just love the look. I called my dealer and looks like its around $1100 non-painted. That's defiantly out of my wallets range. I've been giving thought going to a metal fabricator and seeing what they come up with. I know there are faux scoops out there, but to be honest, they look awful.

The Hood Swap / trade thread for 3rd Gen from a TW member from Oregon.

 

EBay. I picked mine up for about $150. Then it needed about $500 for the body shop to paint.

 

Was that a private sale? OEM?

 

No. Came from carId via eBay. Fit is about 95% correct. Would definitely do it again.

People worship you in this forum, I bet there was a line to trade you...they probably wanted to get on the meso list of future mods haha...you dont count!

I just don’t know what the other components are needed to purchase to complete the setup... parts #6, 7 and 8 from the diagram perhaps?

Funny how all you Mall Crawling TRD OR owners make fun of the Sport scoop, but you somehow all want one...... Just pointing out the obvious.
And the Holy Grail mall crawling Pro has a (fake) scoop from the factory.

 

So the sport hood is functional and the pro hood is fake?

Trivia Question... how many horizontal planes does the scooped hood have?

 

Can you put the word out meso needs another hood, preferably cement? Lol. Finders fee for you. You have more weight around here...I think some would sell thier soul to get thier hands on any of your amazing creations my dude!

 

I bought an OEM Pro hood and scoop from my local Toyota dealer for $750 and had it painted for $600

 

Actually I found a trade before I even had the truck in hand and made any of my mods. Lucked out. I think it makes the front look much more aggressive. Although I do like the visibility of the flat hood.

 

Agreed I do miss the stock OR Hood at times.
