We have camped several times using the Nomad and the last two times it rained. The nomad leaked along the seams/ stitching. Has anyone else come across this and if so how did you stop it? We use a truck bed air mattress and sheets inside...once the sheets get wet moral drops quick!

"DOES THE WEEKENDER PACKAGE KEEP OUT HEAVY RAIN?
The Weekender Package keeps rain out very well. However in heavy side rain some water can sneak in through the velcro. It is recommended that during heavy, wind-driven downpours, lower the topper to prevent water from entering your truck bed. Totally works."

    :notsure:

Or give the company a call...

All tents leak on the seams, unless they are sealed and most aren't. Get some good seam sealer, turn the tent inside out and seal all sewn seams.

Thinking about buying one of these. Does anyone run one with a sleeping platform and an extension in a DCSB? I'm trying to eyeball the vertical clearance, no point if my feet are going to be touching the tent.
Any word if the newer generation solved the leaking issues?

Went camping up in the North Cascades in Washington this weekend as HWY 20 just opened. Recently purchased a TopperLift Nomad canopy camper extension, and I'm pleased to report it worked out great! A bit awkward to get in and out of with the sleeping platform, but once inside slept like a baby on top of my Exped Megmat Duo.

Haven't had the "opportunity" to test it in inclement weather yet, but so far my impression is very positive. I'm going to give it one run in the rain without seam sealing and see how it performs.

@vecdranLooks great! Sounds like you enjoyed it too, that's reassuring because I bought one after reading your post on the 15th of the month. I'm interested in hearing more about your experience in rougher climate. Just to share, attached is what I built for my sleeping platform. I hope the Nomad will fit accordingly...we shall see. Nice truck by the way!

I plan to use it a ton this year hiking and backpacking. I'll update the thread with any inclement weather experiences.

I think you may have some issues trying to set up the tent with that in place. It's a lot easier with nothing in the way, as it has a large floor portion that goes over the tailgate and velcros along the truck bed. It's why I decided to go with stacked storage bins instead of a more elaborate extension of my platform. I hope I'm wrong. :)

    Thank you!

I think you may be right especially with that black liner or vinyl portion that goes over the tailgate. Maybe I can trim off some of the ply so that the velcro strip and the tent portion can still fit and attach before I attach the extension to the bed platform spine. I made it all modular so I could break down the whole thing to individual pieces. I will try to see what I can do, really don't want to tear up all that carpet, that part was harder for me then all the woodwork!

I’ve got one of these I’m willing to part with for cheap in case anyone stumbles on this. It’s brand new and looks great, just doesn’t work for my set up.

edit: sold. Thanks for the interest all!

Quick update, I did end up seam sealing it as a precaution, and I've hard zero leaking issues before or after. I've been in dumping rain and full on blizzards.
