2019 Tacoma with JBL system. Radio working as normal, went inside store , came out and re-started truck, radio working as normal but ni volume. No response to volume knob or steering wheel cntrols. Drove home, turned truck off and then restarted. Radio volume working as normal again.

Any else ever experience this or have an ideas.?

No problems with my head unit, but I would start by disconnecting the Negative battery cable for a couple of minutes. If the no sound returns then check all the connectors on the back of your head unit.

I’ve had this happen to me about a month ago. I was driving to work in the morning and there was no volume but the screen and everything worked but no sound and couldn’t adjust the volume at all, then the next day the screen didn’t work at all except when I put the truck in reverse I can see the reverse cam the as soon as I put it back into drive the screen goes black. So I uninstalled the battery for about 30mins and then reinstalled it and it didn’t work. Frustrated so I used my other vehicle to go about my day and the end of the day I figure im gonna take the taco for a drive and it just started working again. Haven’t had a problem at all for about a month now.

My 2019 did that also. Restarting the Tacoma always fixed it.
Turned out to be some incompatibility with the Bluetooth connection and my old phone. When I upgraded my phone it quit doing that.

I get this from time to time. But usually it is just no volume control...so whatever volume setting I was listening to when I shut the truck off last, it will be stuck at that volume until I shut the truck off again. Don't even bother with the dealer as it is very intermittent. Could have something to do with the bluetooth, head unit, the 5000 accessories I have running off the stock battery or the fact that my name is Don. Don't really care too much about it as I'm always early and have time to restart the truck if needed.

Happens to me from time to time. I mentioned it to the service writer when in for an oil change. They looked into it and basically said "It comes back on when you turn it off and back on? It fixes itself. There is nothing we need to do."

Happens to me about once a month. Shut the truck off and restart and it fixes itself every time. Pain in the ass though.

My 2019 Off Road does this all the time. The dealer who hasn't been able to get me in says there is a software update and in some cases they replace the head unit.

This doesn't have anything to do with pressing the volume button, does it?
Pressing the volume button puts my radio on mute until pressed again.

My truck would just randomly lose the volume, I turn it up then it would mute or shut off volume almost instantly.
