No parking brake on Highlander???

Been meaning to ask this for a while now.

I bought my wife a 2022 Highlander a couple years ago. It does not have a parking brake - at least no lever or foot pedal to engage a parking break. So, me being the overthinker that I am, got to wondering..... if someone was driving this car down the road, and you came to a situation that required you to stop, or slow down significantly. And the normal brakes gave out. In a vehicle with a parking brake lever/pedal, you could try using the parking brake to at least slow down somewhat.

What the hell would I do in this Highlander in such a situation? Other than hope my car insurance is paid up...... Do current model year vehicles no longer have parking brakes?

 

Google says has an automatic parking brake that is set when you enter park. Emergency breaking is done by pressing and holding the P next to the lever next to the lever.

 

Parking brake is electronic as it is on most vehicles anymore.
