Does the 2002 Tacoma come with a center console? I bought a 2002 Tacoma this Saturday and there's not one in my truck. There's just a couple of cup holders. Can I install one? Thanks

    Yes, you can install one.

There should be a bracket on the floor between the seats, near the back, under the carpet.

You take out the cupholder, and it should just bolt in.

Good luck finding one in decent condition tho....

Does this mean I'll have four cup holders?

Interesting. What model and cab is it? Curious if it was a bench seat previously.

My center console has the cupholders attached so as @beez mentioned, you'll have to either remove it or see if there's a center console specific to your current setup.

That folding cupholder is for bench seats. It folds in when you slide the seat forward. Maybe someone swapped the seats for bucket seats. Those seats don't look Tacoma seats either.

I think it's the base model. And it doesn't have back seats if that's what you're asking. I got it from a used car lot that someone sold it to. The previous owner did do some things to this that I've never seen before but it does run and drive good and it's well taken care of, as far as I can tell.

Now that you mention I don't think they're Tacoma seats.

They have some Honda vibes to them. Maybe out of an older Civic?

1st gen Tacoma consoles are somewhat more desirable than most online, so if you want to save a little money, you could always go to a salvage yard and look for a console from a different car that fits and meets your needs.

I've seen people use the 2000-2004 Nissan Xterra consoles and they don't end up looking too shabby. Plenty of those turds found in junk yards for sure.

Not a bad idea. I don't have back seats but I wonder if I could modify that.
