I can't find an Air Conditioning fuse on my 2021 Off Road. The under hood fuse box has a 10 Amp fuse "A/C" location called out, but no fuse and no electrical contacts in that location.

What I'm interested in doing is disabling the compressor while some A/C work is performed, i.e. rerouting a tube. I can just pull the electrical connector from the compressor, but thought a fuse or relay removal would be easier. This is more of a mystery now.

The expensive R1234 refrigerant will be removed prior to the work and recharged when done.

It may be ganged with other circuits if it doesn't have it's own. I bet someone around here will know or have the resource to find out.

Unplug the connector right at the compressor. Also, taco doesn't use 134a anymore. Also, also, did you check under the driver's footwell fuse box? Also, also, also, are you gonna be driving in-between the reroute process?

It won't run without pressure in the system.

There doesn't appear to be a dedicated fuse. The fuse that's involved does other stuff. You could also pull the MG CLT relay from the under hood fuse box which would prevent power from getting to the compressor clutch.

I was thinking along those lines too, but have no experience with AC.

Of course both fuse boxes were checked and YES I will be driving with out a pipe/tube for a while as the new plumbing is fabricated. My experiences with custom work is it rarely gets done to plan or on time and I don't want to have the compressor activated by my forgetting. Oh, yes the openings where the hose is removed from will be sealed up while driving.

Great, that is it; the MG CLT relay gets pulled! Thanks a lot. I imagine MG stands for "Magnetic" and CLT stands for "Clutch".

Yeah definitely no fuse for just the compressor, just the 10A IG1 NO.2 fuse, which is used for a bunch of things. Pulling the relay works.

That said, the moment you remove the refrigerant the compressor will no longer turn on, accidentally or not. The pressure switch requires pressure to close.

    But, pulling the relay works.

Curious what work is being done. Rerouting a hard line up front?

I’m installing duel batteries of my own design in the original position. I’m locating the hose below the elevation of the stock battery level.

The professionals agreed that the system when depleted of refrigerant would not run. So this all was a moot point/question and I have after all not removed the relay disabling the compressor. Thanks all. However, like I suspected the job is taking longer than promised.
