I went there yesterday after seeing his post in B/S/T for the aluminum cooling panel with magnetic tray. I thought about getting one but then realized that I wouldn't have any use for it because I don't work under the hood in my truck, Josh does.

I did notice the Homer-style grilles on the front page though. Kinda sucks for you, but it's not like they're hard to reverse engineer and I think your forum reputation goes farther anyway.

Yeah that shit is robbery right there... I cant stand people who copy a design and sell it for their own benefit... You should be getting royalties for that shit!

 

Someone at work showed me that on Instagram and I was like yeah that's Craig's grille and he's like no this is called bulletproof fab.... What a dumbass. Atleast you have a huge reputation and a long waiting list so I don't think he can really hurt you that much.

And if you want to be really unique with raptor style grilles, add some LEDs like the raptors have, and make it a whole different game.

Stealing unprotected ideas is totally acceptable in a capitalistic society. Ford got the idea from the guys who owned Fords and were modifying their own grills. Craig got the idea from the Raptors and so on down the chain it goes. It's not like the first guy to recess a grill 9 years ago is now rich because he's collecting royalties from Craig and the others who produce them.

I sell the same exact shit as 2 of my competitors that are within miles of me. I sell it at a higher mark up and we are flooded with business. How do I accomplish this you may ask? Better customer service and attention to detail. I know this for a fact because I bought product from my current competitors for the past decade and did what they do good and made sure to not do what they do poorly.

If I were Craig I would order one and reverse engineer it. Then let everyone know the difference. I bet that guy who's selling them if he was smart bought one from Craig and reverse engineered his grill before attempting to produce his own.

I would also patten and legally protect whatever I could. Steve Jobs has glass pattens on his glass stair rail design for his apples stores and Google is currently trying to copy write the word "glass". Business is cutthroat and while I totally support Craig and think what the other guy is doing is shady - there were many people before Craig doing this and if the ideas are not protected it's just another day in the business world.

All true my friend - you are keenly observant. He waited on my list just like everyone else did - purchased one from me last August. His knock offs started showing publicly within a couple months of that.
