I bought the G2's in a 305/70/17 and they are different than my Toyo AT2's. They are pretty soft and seem to wear fast, say you drive like a race car and burn tires frequently. (I dont do that because I know they will wear). I took them off roading last weekend and they actually gripped super well, I couldnt get my truck to kick out. Ive put about 3k miles on them and you can still see the knobby things when you buy brand new tires. Only reason I bought them is because of this tire size. No one else really offers it. They are also kind of loud for some reason. Could be better but I had no option but to run them so here I am.

    Overall:
    - Soft
    - Wear nicely if not beat
    - Not to heavy
    - Kind of loud for a newly designed tire

Any more reviews?! I'm sure there are a bunch of people on this forum with the new G2s...

I have about 10,000 miles on my P285/70R17 G2's. Wearing well, great traction in wet. No snow yet and no off-road. My only complaint is that they are very loud for a AT tire. The G1's I had 2 sets of before the G2's were never this loud even after 40-50k miles. Disappointing for a newly designed tire. I expected them to be similar or better to the previous gen tire.

Edit 2/3/16 - G2's were not loud. Turns out it was my wheel bearings that were bad. Replaced the wheel bearings and now all quiet.

Interesting... good to hear on the wearing and traction, most important to me.

So I am seriously thinking about selling these and getting some Bridgestone Revo II's. The major complaint about them was that they wear fast but they do have a 50,000 mile warranty and are supposed to be awesome in wet / snow for an AT. I'd rather have a quiet ride for shorter time period than live with the noise for longer time. Anyone interested in G2's P285/70R17 with about 13k miles on them. Paid just over $800 new. Would ask for $550 since they should still have 80% of their life left in them.

Edit 2/3/16 - G2's were not loud. Turns out it was my wheel bearings that were bad. Replaced the wheel bearings and now all quiet.

Can they really be THAT much louder over stock?! And they aren't even MTs...

I love my TG1s, great performance in dry conditions and good fuel economy. They are a noisy tire at full pressure, though.

Had 3 set's of G1's before switching to G'2. G1's were great. Never got louder. G2's were loud to start.

Edit 2/3/16 - G2's were not loud. Turns out it was my wheel bearings that were bad. Replaced the wheel bearings and now all quiet.

I have the G1 in stock size 265/265r17 and I have nothing but great things to say about them. However they are very noisy especially as they get older. I will be ready for another set in a year and I want to get a set of Michelin MS2s. The Nittos have been so great, making it a tough decision.

anyone have cooper st or st maxx before having these? These are the 3 tires i’m looking at. I have a set of G1’s that have about 40k on them. i have loved these tires in everything. 2’ of snow, mud, lots and lots of hard rain, even drove on some ice with them and did ok. Noise dose not bother me really, usually have music on kinda laud anyways.

    Bump.
Anymore feedback on the G2s? Long term/how are they holding up? Any regrets on your purchase?

So turns out it wasn't the tires that were loud. After replacing the G2's with Revo II, the "tire noise" got a lot worse. Turns out after 3 months on the Revo's, I couldn't take it anymore and went to the shop that installed to find out what my options were. After describing the noise, they said it's probably the wheels bearings. Had the wheel bearings replaced and now quiet as a mouse. Makes sense that it would be the wheel bearings but it never even entered my mind that it was anything other than the tires.

found a deal on a set of 285 70 17 G2 for 690 shipped, tempting considering my other options were 950 to 1050 shipped. Still have time before I pull the trigger on anything though, so will see.
