FYI Buyer beware, this is not a rant but hoping to save anyone having to deal with this.

After having them specify the incorrect parts, I cancelled the order prior to shipping. It has been four weeks and I still can NOT get a refund. I have sent three emails and spoke with two people and no refund, just "I will look into it". I have had to file fraud charges with my credit card and filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Either this company is incredibly corrupt of is bankrupt and has no money to return.

 

Your problem is with Nitro? Or Justdiff?

 

What part exactly did they incorrectly specify?

 

They are one of the same, they have the same address. Just Differentials I believe is a spin off of Nitro Gears. You end up dealing with the same people.

 

The incorrect carrier unit for the front differential, which is really no big deal. Trying to get your $628.00 refunded after four weeks for a part not shipped "priceless"

 

They’re not the company they used to be, literally. The original owners sold the company earlier this year to DPI Off Road Brands.

I found this out recently when I tried to get some warranty work performed from a gear change they did in 2019. I reached out to the manager, Scott, and he initially said he would talk to the technicians about the issue and get back to me but never did, despite a couple of follow up emails and voicemails from me. I finally gave up and I’m paying another shop to perform the work.

*Edited to say that I’m not trying to throw Scott under the bus. He has been with Nitro Gear/ Just differentials since before it was sold and is a nice guy. I assume he’s probably caught between a rock and a hard place with the new corporation in charge.

 

To be fair, after a month and a half, numerous phone calls and emails I was able to get a refund. I do appreciate receiving a refund.

 

And filing fraud charges and a complaint with the BBB too, right?

Unfortunately yes I had to go this route as well. Sadly that has become necessary these days. Lesson learned for me, spend a little more money to purchase from solid companies.

 

It does seem to be the norm these days rather than the exception. Nitro was a solid company and hopefully they will be again someday. It would be sad to see the new owners run it into the ground.

 

I ordered a seal, o-ring and seal housing for my ARB locker from them. Never received any order confirmation, and they never replied to emails asking about status. Eventually I emailed asking for a refund and a week later they refunded the transaction back to my credit card. A week after that I received a package drop shipped from one of their suppliers containing the seal, o-ring and seal housing.

 

And what good is the BBB on these issues? You really need to see what a scam the BBB itself is...

 

I don’t doubt it, however, it did seem to work for a friend of mine several years ago. He had an issue with a motorcycle that was under warranty. The dealer had it their shop for over a month and claimed the manufacturer was dragging their feet on authorizing the repairs and sending the parts. Out of desperation, said friend filed a complaint with the BBB and within two days the dealer had the authorization and parts in hand. Coincidence? Maybe.

 

Call your credit card company and cancel the payment.

 

The times I have used them they were great. Recently I had flights with United Airlines to fly first cabin for a hunting trip. Due to flight changes and three planes breaking down they changed my tickets to coach. No problem with coach but there was a large price difference and after two months I still could not get a refund of the ticket price difference . Filing a complaint with BBB resulted in a refund in a week. So for me, they did a great job.

 

I should have checked here first...

I ordered a Ring and Pinion set (SKU : D44JK-410-OE) that was on sale Aug. 27, 2023 and never received it. After creating a ticket(#20689) with their support agent (DPI Off-Road Web Support) I was informed in a personal email from slitzo@dpioffroad.com Sept. 26, 2023 stating "we will be canceling and refunding your order due to our liquidation sale stock being sold out" and that "The product is still available to purchase at a fair market value". Just to note the same SKU was again on sale for the price I paid Sept. 25 2023 when I checked to see if my support ticket had been updated.
