Wife just rented a Nissian Frontier,I looked at it and its not a bad little truck, has disc brakes on all 4,really cheap interior, tail gate is really heavy for some reason, engine is about the same as a Tacoma.Overall a decent truck but not one that I would buy, just thought I would post this. Its a 2016 4x4,v6,auto,crew cab.

I have a friend that has an older one of those Frontiers. Not quite as plush or refined as the Tacoma...like you say the interior feels cheaper. But it is a hell of a truck man. This guy bought it used and beat it up and down all four sides, and it's still running great. They last a long time and are a very dependable truck from what I've seen.

I loved my 99 frontier king cab 4x4. That truck was tits!!!!! Granted I put a quart of oil in it everytime I got gas, the steering had 2 inches of pay in each direction. Changing the front brake rotors was a pain in the balls. But I loved that damn truck. First truck!!!! But then I got my 99 hand me down Tacoma with 400k. Drove it for another 200k before I crashed it. But there is always a special place for the frontier

The 99 Tacoma was given to me as a hand me down. My dad didn't think it would last long with 400k on it, but I got another 200k out of it and the Tacoma Baja was calling my name. I had to have it. It wasn't really a necessity, it was more of a lack of willing to live without it.

I had ‘06 Frontier. It was a heavy pig. Fully boxed frame and metal bed made it a stout truck. Turning radius absolutely sucked like trying to park a Mack truck. Truck never gave me an issue when I traded in ‘12 for the Tacoma other than Fuel sending unit which was fixed under warranty. Oh and I forgot about paint coming off fenders where the hood covers. At least it was down to primer and Nissan paid to have it fixed. Overall truck was nice. Did not like the auto transmission seem to lag at 45 mph. I was glad to get rid of it for the Tacoma, especially since Nissan had radiator/transmission strawberry milkshake issue.
