    Hello,

I just changed all my spark plugs on my TRD Sport V6 and knew there will be Denso and NGK on each side.
However did you noticed that the NGK ones were in less better shape than the Denso? I looked at them and the NGK were darker, had a bigger gap than the Denso...

Glad I went with 6 Denso K20HR-U11 for the new ones

How many miles on your truck? I noticed the same thing on mine, '05 TRD Sport MT, changed the plugs at 92.5k (right after I bought it). I put in 6 new Denso also... The old plugs were at .065-.090, new gapped at .043. Didn't feel any difference in drivability.

I changed mine out at a little over 30k. I replaced them with Denso since that seemed to be the consensus here. IF I remember correctly, I think my NGK's were in a little better shape.
I didn't notice any difference after the change either.

What the hell does "in less better shape" mean?

I noticed the same on mine. Changed at 33,000, and ngk's were all out of spec. Denso's were still within spec.

Yep NGK were worse, but I didn't notice anything better on drivability with the 6 new Denso

I'll go with a Denso set when I change mine ... which might be soon.

I had a 07. They didn't come with iridium plugs?

I didnt either. No change to driving or MPG's. But I am meticulous about maintenance, so it gave me piece of mind. Plus, I bought it used from a Chevy dealer that claimed to have done a full service. I was afraid they had replaced them with AC Delco and wanted to make sure I had the right plugs. Thankfully I found the stock NGK/Denso plugs. They did change the oil and replaced the filter with an AC Delco piece of junk that was so tight I had to stab a screwdriver through it to remove it.

yup this is pretty typical of the standard plugs in the 1GR as far as NGK vs denso.... its funny cus its just the opposite with the 1st gen taco v6, NGK's were always preferred as they wore much better than the densos.

Never had problems with NGK. The NGK out of my taco looked fine but I did replace with all Denso.

Do you think Toyota used NGK because they wanted three cylinders to run worse? The best plugs are the freshest plugs of the correct heat range.

First plug change at 34K. Denso/NGk showed same amt. of wear which was little at all.

Changed my plugs for the first time with 166k on them, yes the NGKs looked worse than the Densos. Glad Im not the only one that noticed. I replaced them all with Denso and thats usually all I use in my toyotas. I think the only time Ive used NGK was in my old DSM.

 166k miles. Did you measure the gaps on the old plugs?
