I've read many older posts about sparkplugs for the second gen. Tacoma V6. Back then, NGK did not manufacture the IX version of their Iridium plug. Apparently, it comes pre-gapped @ .044. They recommend the same for a 2012 4L V6. However, I have seen .039 mentioned as that was the original gapping. The original is now nearly 12 years old.

Q: How much does it matter to use the NGK recommendation VS the factory setting, especially since this is the latest iteration of these iridium plugs?
