They call it the the Lombardi Trophy and deservedly so but it’s been a long time since then.

One thing I find fascinating is following coaching trees to see where they came from and who they worked for along the way. Seeing how many worked for Walsh like Seifert, Mike Shanahan, Holmgren, and who they in turn worked with like, Kubiak, Lafleur, McVay, McCarthy, Reid, then on to Kyle Shanahan, then on to Saleh, McDaniel and those are just the ones ending up as head coaches and it looks like Demeco Ryans might be joining that list.

Kansas City Thiefs more like it.

glad damar is going to be ok, but the nfl fumbled this situation.

 

This team went from having their coach playing one in the stink to hosting a playoff game.

 

What would have been the proper way to handle the situation?

Don’t know, but I’m sure they could’ve figured it out.

move everything back a week. Play the bills bengals this weekend and then move the matchups from this weekend to the following (so bengals ravens and bills pats).

give the bengals the win, since they were ahead with equal drives played.

Something could’ve been figured out, period.

not to sound heartless but players/kids get hurt, and also have died in other sports…and the games were still played. 1/2 of the parties involved did not agree to the decision made, but somehow it was still the decision made? Makes no sense.

No one told them I guess that the birds starters are playing against 3rd string giants today.

Not sure why everyone feels the sky is falling. Last week sucked sure, and mostly was on coaching, but still almost pulled out that win against the cowboys with minshew and 4 turnovers the week before.

 

I get what your saying but I don’t think there was a perfect solution and the league did what they thought was best.

If the win went to the bengals as you suggested then the chiefs would still have the 1 seed at this point as they would be the only team able to get to 14 wins.

The logistics of moving games around has got to be an absolute nightmare as I suspect the NFL would’ve preferred to have them play and generate all that extra money.

 

Yes you’re exactly right. They wanted to make sure to keep as much money as possible, and save face throughout the damar situation.

they went for appearances and money, instead of fairness.

even disregarding the chiefs/bills/bengals, the ravens got F’d too.

 

I think the logistics are little more complicated than that. These games are scheduled and prepared for months in advance

 

I get it, I didn’t say it would be easy, but they could’ve done it.

lost some money? Sure, but why should that matter?

A lot of possible outcomes to these playoffs will end with an * because of this.
