Whats going on guys, I have a 2013 4 door tacoma that I'm looking to turn into an "adventure mobile" as my lady calls it. I just wanna buff out the truck with a few modifications like a lift, bigger better tires, some steel bumpers and probably a suspension when all else is in. I'm looking for a shop / store somewhere in the NYC / Long Island area where they may specialize in doing more "offroad" stuff with trucks, and know what they're doing. This way I can bounce questions off of them, have some of the work done there, etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.

    Hey man, welcome to TW!
It's nice to see another LI guy on here. We have our own thread: Long Island, NY Tacos with a bunch of local guys that have great trucks and can easily steer you in the right direction with all your questions.

i have a shop in Medford, i did all my mods at my shop. if you do decide to go somewhere else, i will tell you this, BUY YOUR OWN PARTS. you will save hundreds and thousands of dollars. do a little research and buy it online, all you have to do is pay for labor. we work with some big shops around here who install aftermarket stuff and they order almost everything online and charge you extra. so lets say you buy a suspension lift for $1000, they will charge you $1500.

Custom shop NYC. My buddy’s shop in Astoria queens. I bought my suspension parts through group buys and he installed it. Also did retro headlights. Installed a rear leaf pack. They do great work and awesome guys.

Custom shop nyc does great work, but their prices are a bit steep in my opinion. And certain times of the year they have a wait list it seems.
I had trouble finding any good shops that deal with lifted trucks for a while so I ended up doing all the work myself in the driveway. And finding a shop to an alinement with the caster I wanted was damn near impossible. But I have heard of a few shops in jersey that know their stuff in the lifted game.

I’d do the drive if they could get whatever work needed done that day
