New Wheels To Consider Tandem Offroad

I've been waiting on updates for Tandem Offroad's new wheel. These are at the top of my list now. They even have White for all you Super White Fans... Time to start saving. Enjoy.

We have designed this wheel specifically for wheeling enthusiasts. Our no center cap design has been optimized for off-road use and abuse. The outer lip has been given additional thickness for to resist gouges that may be encountered during low PSI conditions. The 12 ridges on the outside have been placed there in order to protect the valve stem from damage. The six spoke design offers excellent strength.

Are these still in production or no? Seems to be out of stock every time I look, and can't find a pre-owned set anywhere.

Yes, they are still in business. They are a Toyota off-road shop primarily; the wheels haven’t come in yet.

 

@Naveronski Thanks. I finally heard back from someone over there today.

 

Geeze, what is up with the no center cap design? Makes a nice looking wheel look unfinished! Besides any hard core guy that didn't want them could have always left them off. Reminds me of the F5s, nice wheel but again unfinished.

That's the way I look at them at least

 

No love for the 16” I see.

 

What did you hear? Can you buy these?

 

At least a flush center cap would make these wheels pop

Anyone sprung for these yet? Saw Tandem's recent Facebook posts that they have these in limited supply at the moment, seems they are prioritizing replacing the Gen 1 version that had some issues. These have a nice rugged look to them and are on my short list for new wheels. Although I don't fully understand what went wrong with the Gen 1's so that makes me a little wary.

 

A couple of radii in the wheel were too sharp and cracked on a couple of the wheels.

 

Thanks for the color on that. I saw the photo they posted showing the difference between Gen 1 and Gen 2 but didn't really understand it. Hopefully the changes they made will avoid those issues in the future, because these are really great looking wheels.

 

And to CYA (CMA?): I do not work at/for/with Tandem, but I do know several of their employees.
