hey guys, got these new wheels pro comp 7069 16x8 -12mm. For my 2008 sport. Another guys here has the same setup with no issues. There is slight rubbing on the driver side caliper. I'm thinking of shaving like 1-2 mm on the inside of the wheel where it's rubbing since I really don't what to shave the caliper. Any one has had a similar experience ? Any help is appreciated IMG_8006.jpg

Shave away. What could possible go wrong by removing material from the rim?

*disclaimer: that is sarcasm...you should probably pick up some spacers or different wheels*

Cut & broke off stuff. Prolific ziptie and tape usage.
you would likely be ok sanding a little off the caliper. Do not grind the wheels.

Spacers are best option but make sure you have enough threads engaged in the lugs.

Grind the caliper, you'll be fine.

I had someone call when i got my procomps and they were like yadda yadda you need 17 inch wheels because the tacos calipers will hit it. This seems to be a thing that happens with a lot of pro comp wheels on the second gen tacomas If you get them in 16x8. But i told him i knew they would fit (which they did) but it is very close. If i were you get some 1.25 spacers if you really like the wheels, the stance will look sick too!

That's only with procomp steelies. The alloys are fine

The guy at discount tire even called pro comp before ordering them to make sure the 16x8 alloys fit my 2008 taco but sure enough they rubbed the calipers for some reason. The driver side was the worst one. Yeah thought about getting 1.25 spacers but since they swapped out the wheels and tires for free I figured I'd go with the 17 wheels instead.
