I agree with you in that aspect but I have been a BFG guy for the past 15 years. Great on road,, great offroad, But I have to admit, once it was pointed out to me that they were crap in the rain and snow....especially on wet roads, i couldn't deny it and still continue to slip and slide after a freshly fallen rain. I am not really a fan of the falkens even though so many people say they are great in the snow and rain. I have read way to many horror stories for me to invest in them. The Toyo A/T3 , to me, looks the same as the BFGs in aggressiveness but they state are great in the snow and ice. Honestly.....I'm sold.

Tbh with you i have never had a issue in the snow with my truck. Live in Ny so have seen my share of snow. When you say you have had problems in snow is that with just 2wd and the need for 4wd so much? or?. and i don’t know i don’t really seem to have issues in rain either.

and i have seen that the toyo are snow rated which is deff nice

The aspect of the snow was never really a huge problem, I live in MA, in either 2wd or 4wd, it was mainly with the snow ejection. I have noticed after I got out of my truck that the snow gets packed in the grooves but never a problem with traction per say. I thought I really didn't have an issue with the rain either.....like I said, until it was told to me that there was a problem with others. Now, paying more attention to it, I see slippage all the freaking time. I thought it was just how tire were supposed to act. Then I drove my fathers truck that has Falkens and it was night and day. I just don't have faith unfortunately with the falkens for what I use them for. Weight is a huge factor for me because I am not repeated (yet anyway) and the size that I am looking for in a BFG they don't make (255/80R17). They make them in a 285 but they are too heavy for my liking. I know that most people say that SL rated are fine to go with but C rated has always treated me well and E rated are heavy and uncomfortable. The toyo AT3 in a 255 skinny is my Goldilocks, just right and hitting all of my marks.

ahh! makes sense. yeah i haven’t driven anything else in the snow.

And i deff want a C rated tires. and i still don’t know what size i’m going to go with. I was originally going to do 275/70/17. but bfg doesn’t make those in a C. They make 285 in a C. But i’m just still not sure what kind of rubbing i would have. i kinda want to know before i commit to buying bigger tires. I am lifted so that deff helps. But i know whatever tire i want it will be a C rated. haven’t even researched the toyo or falken much tbh. i don’t need new tires yet but deff this year i want to get.
Here’s a pic of my truck.
    Currently on 265/70’s

I was going to go with the 275s in the bfg's but the weight was a killer and only in e rated. You will get rubbing in a 285 even lifted in a 2nd gen without a CMC and a pinch weld fold. I have 265's on my truck now as well in a bfg ko2.

yeah if i need a cab mount chop that’s not bad. i can find someone to do that.
Part of me wants to just go and do that before i even get the tires. Or would that be stupid.
and the pinch weld fold the part after they do the cab mount chop in this video? (3:27 mark)

265/75/16 ATIII with the Bilstein 5100. I love this setup so far. Truck is much more stable and rides smooth.

Does anyone know if the 265/75/16 will fit a stock OR suspension? I figured I should just get as big as possible while not having to cut anything and no rubbing. I currently run the 265/70/16 goodyears.

Where did you get yours from? I know using Discount Tires website is a pain because it will just say "doesnt fit your truck" because its not the 265/70/16. I guess I could just call.

Just use the tire size instead of putting in your vehicle info when you order. You shouldn't have any issues

America's Tire (which I think is the same as Discount) Gave me 15% off because they priced matched simple tire and I told them I had a 15% coupon code. $675 out the door. Sold the stock Goodyears for $400.

These babies cost me $275 after all the dust settled.

It was because Simple Tire’s website was wrong about a certain tire and they gave it to me... But when I mentioned it to the America’s Tire guy he immediately said he’d match it. He was like “I want your business”

Right now I'm having a damn tough time deciding on what tires to get, but these in 255/80/17s are my current front runner. I'm extremely curious to hear your experiences with them.

I wanted a 33" but with a decreased likelihood for a CMC. Plus with the C rating and a lower weight than the competitors it was a no brainer

Pretty sure the 255/80/R17 are E-load. My unicorn tire is a 255/80/R17 Cooper AT3 XLT C-load which isn’t near the realm of reality. All the tall skinny tires are E-load. This Toyo ATIII looks to be the closest thing to my unicorn though. Once it’s available and @Discount Tire does a flash sale that applies to it, it’s go time. I’ve had these tires loaded in my cart but no stock available and discounts don’t apply. Waiting patiently...

If the C load and E load are the same weight, isn’t the E load a better solution? Not necessarily talking about A/T 3s, but just in general.

Still trying to understand load ratings.
