Once in a while I buy a product that exceeds all expectations. Today, I just received a new rear bumper from RockAuto that blew me away when I opened the box.

The product comes with more hardware than just a bumper. Pictures below.

List price is $161.79 less $8.09 with the TW discount. Delivered it was $202.64.

Old vs. New bumper. The old bumper had some rust under the plastic covers with a couple of dents and bends from someone towing without the proper type of receiver hitch.

For the price, I'm happy with this purchase. It came with new frame brackets and license plate lights.

Hold your purchases until I report back after installation. You never know till until you finish the installation.

I spent most of yesterday refinishing the old bumper brackets. Then I find the new bumper comes with new brackets.

The old rear bracket had started to rust.

The chrome on that new one looks fantastic! How does the quality of the actual steel underneath look to you? As good as the original? One thing I know is the OEM bumper is highly dingable itself. They do not make them thick enough like they did in the day.

Its not bad.. It might be a few ounces lighter. I've got some new looking black plastic Toyota step up covers that I'll put on. I was expecting to only get the chrome bumper outer skin. I'll put the proper receiver towing hitch on it before I try to tow something. I think that's how the original bumper was damaged.

It won't see any road salt while I own it. So it should have an easy life.

I despise RockAuto. They are a scam. When they first started, they were a great place to order part's from for great price, but once they started producing commercials they do a bait and switch. $2:50 for a 6 cylinder injector orings shouldn't cost $15 dollars to standard UPS to ship. Fuck Rock Auto. I ended up getting every O-ring I needed off of Amazon cheaper with 2 day shipping thrown in for free.

    Looks great!
Ive been looking at the defective chrome ones on ebay.
If you're close to IL I'd happily take your old bumper of your hands!

I've bought the tailgate for my 95. Good quality and perfect fit.

I have also bought both a chrome and painted front bumper, and a painted (flat black) rear bumper. All have been good quality. I did not repaint the RR bumper and the paint is still fine after 2 Winters.

The only problem I have had with Rock Auto (other than high shipping costs) is when a hood I bought turned out to be dented. I ordered it and did not open it for about 5 weeks, because I was rebuilding the whole front of the truck. It was dented and I am 1000% sure it did not happen after I got it.

They said I would have had to open the package and show the driver the damage before he left in order to have a claim. Yeah, right.

Thanks for sharing. I remembered that from one of your earlier posts. That part of the reason for the inspection on arrival. :)

Which tailgate did you buy? Regular inventory or OE? I was thinking buying the regular inventory then just getting one of those tailgate reinforcements.
