Ummmm, there was a post somewhere about a Maverick in the $50k region. Broncos are north of that.

Saw a 2WD Hybrid Escape priced at $36k months ago.

Nickel and diming to keep a vehicle running takes on a new meaning. A new / used vehicle just is not worth those prices, to me.

My 2018 trd sport DCSB was $36k before taxes. I can’t ever sell my truck when the new trd sports can be in the 50k range. A lot of dealerships in the Bay Area are offering discounts on 4th gen’s.

I have seen 2025 for 3K to 5K off msrp. I never saw that with a 3rd gen so 4th gen must not be selling well.

4th gens are selling very well and deals can be found for more than a few grand off msrp. Interest rates are still bad unless you want a new tundra. I've had my 2017 for 9 years, 68k miles and it's still chugging along. I've looked at several new vehicles over the past few months including new tacoma's. I just can't make up my mind.
I really liked the interior and ventilated seats on the Trailhunter tacoma, but it's underpowered and way overpriced for what it is imo.

Rumor has it Stellantis has started production again on V8 Hemi's in Michigan and has plans to bring back the V8 Charger and TRX. Something with more power and more room would be nice. We need more new muscle cars to choose from. :burnrubber::mudding:

For now, I'm planning on keeping my 3rd gen a while longer. :turtleride:

That was 8 years ago lol. $50k today is $38k in 2017. Keep up with inflation or die trying...

I was at Falkner Toyota in Harrisburg like a week ago to pick up an order of filters and stuff for my truck. They had some TRD sport and OR 4th gens. The lowest sticker price was like $47K and $56K on the high end. No thanks I'll keep my 2020 that's paid off now that I would never have been able to buy new in the first place if I had not saved up a large downpayment.
With the inflation of the last few years and how most people's wages have not kept pace with it the percentage of consumers that want to buy a car or house that are priced out is growing. Mine sure has not kept up. I've considered looking for a different job, going to private companies but the pay is sometimes not much better and offset by a more expensive health care package or the pay they can offer is actually less.

I'm going to keep what I have since my truck is running strong with no issues and take care of it so it lasts. I moved up from buying beater cars for cash. I hope I don't have to go back to that.

I noticed a Frontier Pro4X with a sticker over $50k, which is absurd, so there’s dumb sticker prices all over. Also very big discounts everywhere, which is why Tacos are selling like Tacos on Tuesday.

I respect anyone who pays off their old truck and puts 150kmi on it, but if Toyota relied on on those folks to buy a new one every 8-10 years, they'd go out of business. To each their own.

You're are correct they do want you to buy something new sooner than 8-10 years and thats fine for those who want to do that or can afford to change vehicles every 2-5 years. I'm not that well off and generally Frugal and satisiied with what I got as long as it serves me well. Those people that need to keep up with the Jones' can keep them afloat, I'll keep my paid off truck as long as I can. If I won the Powerball I probably still wouldn't go get a new 4gen because I could. I'd rather trade up houses.

The cure for high prices, is high prices.

The people that needed to by a new 4th gen, have probably done so. Now the plateau period is setting in for Toyota. Prices will adjust down eventually, if OEM's want to survive. Remember, they need liquidity to survive and that means they need to sell their inventory, no matter what.

:rofl:That’s an over-used truck, better sell it soon! ;)

Yours is just a baby! Mine is in its 90k’s now and I am always worried about it ever getting stolen or totaled. I really like it but know it will probably be the last new truck I ever buy. Next one would probably be something to go out in style with like a clean restored FJ40, or 70-series Landcruiser.

Prices are insane. I paid off my 2021 a few months early. My wife's 2017 Forester has less than 50k miles on it.
I will continue to maintain both of them every 5,000 miles. The auto-market is going to get hit hard, workers at
GM/ Ford/ Toyota/ Chrysler/ all of 'em are going to feel layoffs. People simply can't afford these prices.

Back in 2020/2021 when these things were selling within minutes of arrival I was lucky to find what I wanted.
Now those dealer lots are FULL of new Tacomas.

In 1950, my father bought a four bedroom house in Portland, Oregon for $12K. When he was alive, he always complained his 1995 Camry cost more than his house.

I never brought up inflation, I just let him rant.
