So what exact steps is everyone Taking to install the update. Here’s the issue I’m having even though I’m tethered.

Thanks, that’s exactly what I needed.

One thing that I immediately noticed is when I flip my phone to camera I don’t lose audio anymore.

I also got the kit from Crutchfield. I ended up using the stock brackets. You will need to drill a hole in each side and grind off the small "nubs" on the inside. I used a dremel, easy enough. It wasn't hard once I figured out the alignment.

I can not find any review on this head unit. If members found a review on this headunit please send the info my way. From my research so far, I really like this head unit but I don't know if I can justify to myself, mainly my Wife, if it's worth 1k plus for the headunit and everything that is needed for the installation. I like that it looks OEM when installed compared to a 7inch screen. I like all the features of this head unit. But honestly, I don't mind plugging my phone in for Apple Car Play or Android Auto. The only cons I can find so far for me is that the touch screen is a resistant touchscreen and not a capacity touchscreen. Also, as of right now, there is no way to fool the parking brake sensor. My real question is, to all the members that have this head unit installed, is it worth spending that much or should you have webt with a cheaper headunit and save the money for other mods to the truck? I know everyone answer will be different but I am just trying to get a better perspectives from members that is currently using this headunit. Thanks in advance for the opinions.

To me, it seems worth it. But I don't want to buy it and have buyer remorse because I could have save some money for other mods.

I bought this unit, coming from and Android head unit (Dasaita PX6). I made the switch for a few reasons:
    1. Wireless Car Play was spot on, and fast (this is a must for me....I hate tethering my phone)
    2. Audio Quality - face it. Pioneer's first priority is audio quality followed by everything else. An Android head units first priority is being an android tablet; audio is an add on.
    3. Display Quality - one word....flawless .... this unit is ultra sharp, and it is visible with polarized glasses, unlike my Dasaita unit.
This unit is complete, fast, and worth every dime. If your are on a budget and not quite as AROC about your audio, buy the Dasaita unit (it looks nice and it is a hell of a step up from the stock and premium Entune units).

I believe it is a capacitive touch screen! Look at the pioneer web site again. I know 100% that the 7600 is. This unit is the best option for the $ at this moment. I also tried an android PX6 and it’s just not for me. I’m definitely about sound quality and it working every single time!

How is sound output? Does it make the stock speaker sounds a lot better?

I am running this deck through a system. Amps subs etc.. can’t answer to running it to speakers internally. Sorry

Yes, your stock speakers will sound better, but this unit will rock, so upgrading your speakers will give you much cleaner/powerful sound. I personally have an OEM Audio Plus setup, but Subaru tweets and kicker two ways are inexpensive and a fantastic upgrade from the stock speakers.

Thanks for the input everyone. I really hate this forum. I was already poor before I own a Tacoma, but now I'm legit homeless poor.

I installed the 6600 yesterday in my 2019 pro w/JBL. I used the maestro RR. The head unit looks great! I still have the stock speakers and it sounds a lot better. I'll probably wait awhile to replace them. That being said there some things are not working right. I'm wondering if anyone else has run into them.

When I flashed the Maestro it had an option to hold down one of the steering wheel buttons and it would display the front camera. I can't seem to get that to work.
It keeps telling me the speed sensor isn't connected. I've checked it and reconnected it now and still the same problem.

It seems to not want to connect to my iPhone's WIFI automatically. is there a setting I'm missing? When it does connect I can't use CarPlay ??

when I try to use the browser it tells me I can't view it from the front monitor even when parked. Is there a setting to change that? I'm guessing it might have something to do with the speed sensor

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.
