New Tacoma’23 owner. First purchase was a pace edwards retractable tonneau cover. I got this because it suited my specific needs. Installation was a breeze. So after going to my desert cabin via bumpy dirt road, I noticed it was retracted. I left that was as we did some rough trail riding. Back on the regular dirt roads, I closed it again. With a few minutes, retracted again.
So what is causing this? Thinking it might be the latch bouncing loose? Or is the bed flexing enough for locking catches to pop out?
Another possibility could be that I didn’t install the side rails tight enough? What do you all think.

yep, its #3. the side rails need to be closer , most notably at the tailgate area. you can doublecheck the amount of side-to-side motion of the tonneau when closed. if there's alot of play, then rattling movement during bumpy rides will shift the tonneau and the side latches will 'escape' the slots holding it in place. I experienced this when i took my pace edwards off and then reinstalled it.
