New Member - 2023 Trail Edition

Hey everyone!

Just picked up my 2023 Trail Edition last night. I sold my 2013 Tundra in 2021 since they were throwing money at me for it. I bought a 2021 Camry while waiting for a Ford Maverick. Well I got tired of waiting at was able to get my Tacoma at invoice price.

Does this truck not offer remote start through the app? All I see in the app is the Hotspot and the SOS safety subscriptions.

Nice truck. I have a deposit on a MGM Trail. How have you been enjoying it. Does the bronze stand out well on the truck. Never seen a MGM Trail in the wild down here in Louisiana. In fact, I haven’t seen a Trail Edition of any color in the wild yet.

Did it have the command start? Any lack of features you wish it had?

 

No remote start. The only option I wish I could get is manual transmission not offered on Trail Edition; however when I was looking there were no manuals not pre sold within 500 miles of me. So once no manuals were available I went to Trail Edition. The only available option I really wanted was the JBL Premium Audio. I was always a little confused on the Premium Audio for the Trail though, I think they offered Premium Audio but for could never verify if it was a JBL system. For some reason it seemed like only the TRD Pro could get a JBL system. I also wish I could have optioned out the tool boxes. In Canada I think y’all don’t get the boxes but a roof rail instead.

I found it hard to figure out what options come with the Trail and if the value is worth more than the Off-Road Premium….

These did not come with remote start. With the Trail Edition, what you get is what you get..
Bronze TRD style wheels, bronze heritage grill, Locking rear differential, factory lift, black interior with bronze stitching, lockable storage boxes, etc.
My advice is go with a Viper remote start/alarm system. You can get a nice one with chargable remote and feedback to let you know your truck is running or when the alarm goes off for around $500. Beats a lame dealer remote start with no feedback and batteries for $900

Thanks guys! Its been 2 months now and I absolutely love my Tacoma. Im gonna have to give her a name now

 

I really love my truck so far. The plain looks of the SR5 look great in my opinion and the minimal bronze accents look perfect. I just installed a bed cover. I bought a low profile canvas roll up so I can access the storage boxes in the back. It works perfect. Truxedo "Pro X15" through Real Truck website.

 

Nice! That color scheme was desired in my Taco search, though I ended up with something else.
