Maybe for the Pro version. But then people will have to learn how to drive the Tacoma all over again.

Wait you mean only the PRO should get the Twin Turbo?

I would like to see it offered in more models then the PRO. Maybe they might do the PRO and make it like a mini raptor.
I would prefer to see it as a engine option for the Tacoma.

Would think a Turbo might not help with the common 3rd gen complaint of "delayed power and lacking low end torque"

It would solve the problem of low end torque a lot of people are complaining about. And if the new Ranger has a ecoboost engine it would be a easy way to compete with Ford. The extra torque would also help with the engine downshifting on the highway.

I agree. After all there's a reason it's called Turbo lag, however I think a supercharger would work

Again I don't think Turbo would help as much as a S/C due to lag

Depends on the size of the turbos as well as technology.

new turbos spool up much quicker than 90's turbos.

With direct injection and twin turbos the lag isn't as bad as the old days. You can run a higher compression with direct injected turbos.

Still though, turbo concept is still the same, it requires higher RPMs and the engine to be operating within it's powerband. Turbos still run off the exhaust

My 2003 RS6 has 400HP and 450ftlbs of TQ at very low RPMs. No reason they cant make this engine run better. I have only driven my MT DC TRD but the 2nd gen I own in the same config runs much better and its a auto transmission. I am beginning to wonder if my truck (engine is a dud). I am up at 7000ft so we can take advantage of any extra air up here.
