New here - Fridge slider on a platform?

Hi there, new here. We're changing up our set up a bit and are wanting a fridge slider for the back of the truck. We are have a decked drawer system. Any standard slider will bring the fridge too high up when it's pulled out because of the height of the platform 12" + height of the fridge (16"). Kind of hard to see in. Looked into tilted sliders, but I'm not completely sold on the idea. For now we have it in the back seat of the cab.

Anyone have similar set up/advice on what the best move is?

 

A drop down fridge slider might work for you guys

 

Thanks - I'm considering on one of those & would probably work best imo, but feels a bit bulky.

 

Hard to know if you have a double or access cab. a platform can be made and secured in place of a rear seat, and you mount your basic slide and refrigerator there.
With the Decked platform, and a Shell, I can not see there is enough space to slide your refrigerator out over the tailgate.

 

Following. I installed a decked system and have a mid height rack. I have been researching fridges and slides as well. I ordered some tonneau cover brackets to go with my rack to try and give a few extra inches to work with but, till not sure there will be enough room.

So we had a Decked under our GoFastCamper with a Large Alu-Cab tilting fridge slide and 63qt fridge. We 1000% loved the setup my truck was lifted and my wife is 5‘ 02” and could access the fridge easily. It’s 100% a Great combo. I had mine set so when it dropped it just landed in the tailgate to keep stress off the Decked lid, however, I reinforced below it and I’m positive it was strong enough. I might have pics with the Decked lid off if I look.

That said we moved on from our early GFC and sold the Decked as well in favor of an Alu-Cab Khaya camper. So if you have any use for a tilting fridge slide mine is sitting in my garage I’d be willing to part with it. I live in the NE in upstate NY.

Hey man I’m trying to do this set up right now. How did you secure the slide to the decked system? I was looking at putting washers and nuts on the bottom side if I drilled through but don’t want to get interference opening the drawers. Any advice would be awesome. Thanks! Also if you still have the slide and are willing to ship it I would be interested

 

I ended up moving up to full height rack, got Alu Cab tilt slide and ARB Fridge. Me and a friend installed. Just make sure you install slide on passenger side of decked. More room on that side platform. The slide came with everything you need. No issues with the drawers. Just make sure to silicone the holes and you will have to take top off deck to do.

 

Did you drill through the metal supports in the system or just through the plastic?

 

I lined it up so it was plastic and I could still access the storage bin. Wish I had took some photos of the project. I just took top off and lined it up while off, marked, drilled and bolted down. Everything lined up perfect. I have the XL slide.

When the storms pass I’ll try and grab you some pictures of where mine is bolted down.
