Thanks. It's a silly tight tolerance too. +10% wall thickness reinforcement for .028" wall tube. Typically inspectors would allow .003" since the polishing process takes a couple thousand off anyways.

All this welding talk makes me want to learn too, just so I can make random crap.

 

Buy a Harbor Freight welder, throw away the spool it comes with, buy a spool of Lincoln or Miller wire, and start burning.

 

Now I just need the time and space, both of which I have none of. Gotta wait to move to my own place first. Hopefully it’ll be a place big enough where I can build a workshop and host mod days…

Folks, meet my new demon child type mod I made for the bed rack. A sliding Maxtrax mount!
Only reason for it was cause I wanted to keep them on the passenger side, but want to be able to open my DB cover and at the same time not have the Maxtrax stick further out the ass end.
