Fun yes but don't want to be evil and leave a bad taste. I'd rather one or two weird guys in pick em ups went and loaded down with bbq than 12 ass hats showed up and clogged up the parking lot.

Don't go to Maine for food.

All credit where it's due to the state. I grew up there. I wouldn't rank them top anything for food.

Nah if I'm honest parking lot meets 2 hours away aren't doing it for me. But I'm from RI so

 

I went last year. In all honesty, it kind of sucked. The judges were very biased towards who they picked.

It was a big meet of Instagram trucks and posers. The ones that did show up that were real overlanders and built trucks, not bought trucks, did not even get looked at. North East Adventure Company is just a Fraternity Boys club that stick to there own.

 

alright well on that note, I don’t really wanna go to something where dudes are just jerking each other off lol. I was hoping there would be like products to see instead of guessing what it’d be like online

 

I will give you 2 examples:

If you click on the link, you will see the orange truck with the trailer. He showed up 2 hours late, he just bought the truck and color matched trailer a month prior, and came just to show it off. He won "Best Overland Vehicle."
He won a four day offroad trip with Northeast Adventure Company and I overheard him say that he most likely won't use it because his truck will never be off road more than a campground.

The second example was a guy that bought a Instagram truck with long travel and fiberglass McNeil fenders to look like a trophy truck. The kings that were on it were even powdercoated a shade of purple. The problem was that he bought the truck completely done up, trailered it up here from Florida, put it on the rode, drove it to the Meet, and won for "Best Modified Toyota".

It was supposed to be an OVERLAND meet. Not an "I just bought this thing that someone else spent a fortune on and it has and never will go off road" meet.

 

Sounds like a competition of who spent more money.

 

Lmao my build is to try to be “incognito” not that I’m looking for recognition but I think what I’m looking for is an expo. Do we ever have one in New England?

We have.....and we will again. I put on a TW New England meet to benefit Autism. We had one planned for 2020 but the virus hit. I will be planning another. Check out the video and read the thread.

Had a fun time at the Mahwah mod day. We found out that the gx/4runner have an issue with the rear struts seizing to the bottom carrier spindle thing. (@Spare Parts pop yours loose and apply anti-seize!)

I got no pics and only a few out there. Had to make a few stops on the way down so I was a little late.


Bump for Treehouse this Saturday! If you don't have plans to be fishing all weekend and you're looking for some good beer come by and hang out.

How many kayakers we got here? Also acceptable paddle board and canoes. Just curious if there would be enough interest in getting a day on the water planned.

 

They look sweet! Prep prep prep some more. Wear gloves to keep your greasy mitts off of them and use denatured alcohol to wipe them down completely so there's no dirt or grease left behind. I would use a paintbrush to get into the nooks and crannies where the tube steel meets the top of the plate. Spray paint is pretty easy but a brush/roll on is even easier to touch up.

Where you want to step and not slip you can add a bit of sand in the paint for grip.

 

Big like. Have one kayak and a new to me canoe.
