Had a mini mod day with Brandon @CttAznRanger today. Got to try out the wall mount.....I mean hand truck mounted spring compressor. Took a couple of minutes to get used to but after using that thing you NEVER want to go back to those "rinky dink" store bought ones. Had to take a wire wheel to the shock body threads because we couldn't turn the collar. Then we found that the bearings for their lower shock bolts were so bad they were almost too dangerous to drive on.

Yeah, you see that gap above the spherical bearing? That's not supposed to be there lol

So, in trying to replace the spherical bearing, I was able to pop it out (without the outer sleeve) and look at this… the bearing wore through the sleeve and into the shock itself… I guess these Kings are going to be shelved for a bit until I get someone to rebuild them…

That’s as clean as I got it. It’s rubbed to the point where the bearing has made its way into the shock. There’s a gap under the screwdriver, and the screwdriver should be flat where the bearing should be pressed in.

I have the bearings already, but it’s the hole in the shock that’s worn in.

@m603holden who or what company was in PA that does the shock rebuilds? I might give them a call to see if I can drop all 4 corners off to them for a rebuild.
