    Awesome stuff here^^

I'm waiting for the buzz to die down a bit before picking one up, hoping those famous HF coupons and less excitement over it brings the price down

I got it because I needed a taller jack for working on the vehicles in general, lol. Soon we will have 3 vehicles that are too tall for the regular one. Taco, Cargo van, and soon to be GX460, and maybe even a 4runner...
Just be aware some of the coupon restrictions may not let you use it on the jacks and whatnot.

This jack is now my go-to jack.. I was previously using HFs cheap 1.5 ton (did what I needed it to do when truck was stock) but it was becoming one of the biggest pains when having to do rotates (I'm anal and do them every 3kish). I also don't own a Hi-lift yet so that also helps out when looking at the $$$$.

Your issue with the set screw on the handle itself, I don't have. Once I get the handle set in the jack and tighten up the set screw everything works as it should. I'll bring mines with me on mod day and see if there's anything different with yours.

I am currently using a 2ton, but I just use it in my driveway. Haven't been lately, but will have to keep my eye out for a 3T on facebook - I don't need the "offroad" jack.

I have one. It's an emergency situation only. It should not be your primary or even secondary or at any level other than emergency lifting device. Spend some time on the youtube and you'll see why. They're great when they work as intended, but they can be SUPER sketchy. I'll probably get a 3T to clean up, or get that one.

Yeah, I have a 2.5 ton, but I still need to block it. The issue I have is that my driveway isn't in the best condition, so those tiny wheels don't roll and the frame slides on the jack. I need the big wheels so the jack actually rolls under, and for the height...

@crashngiggles i just checked mine, the thumb screw is tightened all the way down, but I can still rotate my handle. Maybe yours isn’t seating properly.

Yeah, may be one of the lucky winners on that one.

When you turn the thumb screw all the way, does it make a mark on the bar as to what it is hitting? You may be able to get around it one way or the other.

If we're talking a 12mm socket had a chip in the chrome plating I wouldn't give it a second thought but something that's lifting a vehicle up over me (and keep in mind people - shouldn't but do - use them without jack stands) - I'd be brining that back to HF and showing them the QC issue and my concern, for an exchange. I don't expect aerospace grade quality assurance, but more than "woopsie the handle might come out when you aren't expecting it".

Here's the thing, I would do that exact same thing, but because it is so new, and they literally go like "hotcakes", or if it was something that they regularly had in stock I would go exchange it without any issue. Five of them came in on a Monday, they were the first ones to come into that store, and I bought the second to the last one on that Monday night. The aspect of the handle tab is not necessarily a deal breaker for me and I can most certainly rig up something to make sure that it stays in their when I need to. and keep in mind, that was just my experience with it and it apparently is not an experience that other people have had because they do not have an issue with that part of their Jack. I will still keep using it, and Jack stands LOL, because I do believe that the pros still outweigh the cons.

Yeah, getting these was a nightmare, lol.

So just to double check when you are back from the office, see what part it is pinching on. if it is pinching the lower lip of the handle, then you may be able to get away with filing down the end so it seats all the way. If it is pinching the main portion of the handle above the indent area, you can just hold the handle up a little bit before locking it in.

Here is a quick idea of what I found. If it was a little above the groove, then yes, absolutely, I would just back it off a little and lock it down so it is in the groove. But it is below the groove by about 1 mm, which doesn't sound like much but it should be about 4mm higher to fall into the groove. They just drilled and tapped it a little too low. This is with the handle seated completely into the hole and bottoming out. I can see your point about filing it down a little but I think I have a better idea with a "Spring ball" connection.

In this case you can always get a welder, weld that hole back up, drill a new one at the right height. I'll get a measurement for you later on how far down the hole is supposed to be.

I'm north shore mass if you ever find yourself at a mod day or meet, I thought I could buy some credits to unlock your ecu with the base vftuner software but it seems like they've changed it so it's only compatible with 1 VIN now. I do have the cable though so you can just pick up the software at that point. What tune are you going with?
