Cool beans, got these ordered and ordered my new intake piping as well. Gonna grab a 4" pvc cap to plug up the existing hole in the box and seam seal everything once it's warm enough. What was the stuff you were telling me to go with?

Ima probably need some help figuring out a clunking lol. Could be lower control arms, could be sway bar, could be steering rack.....not a clue and it's too cold lol. Could also be cross member possibly. I've had a noise over some bumps but it does it now in reverse with wheels turned. I mean 9 yrs so could be time for a bunch if bushings

What is behind that? If it's the plastic fitting, just break it and buy a new fitting at the local store.

As far as I know, it's a metal nut welded on the inside. Definitely would have snapped by now if it was plastic. One of my screwdrivers was already starting to bend. I bought some left handed drill bits. Hopefully that will work.

Sounds right if you're bending a driver. And yeah my thought would be the drilling it out next also.

Went through this on the wife's Rav4 but that had the plastics.

The front plate has plastic with the self-tapping screws. The back uses M6 bolts. I need to move out of the rust belt.

Try hitting the end of the screwdriver with a hammer while it is engaged with the screw, it might help loosen the screw. I would also say try using an impact driver on that screw, but you don't want to dent the lift gate or worse, break off the tack welded nut that is on the inside of the lift gate. If worse comes to worst, break the screw head off, and use a self tapping screw into the the old screw threads.

I'll try the hammer, though I'm not sure I can hit it hard enough to be effective without damage to the lift gate. I might just keep spraying some PB Blaster on it for a bit, and maybe on a warmer day it might cooperate. Otherwise the drill comes out.

I have only had a couple plate screws come out with an impact driver, but like you said, you don't want to to hit it so hard that you damage the lift gate. Just keep soaking it with some sauce, and it might eventually cooperate!
