Hello, I'm Niclas and I'm from Germany. My 2020 Tacoma TRD pro needs a new engine ECU (ECM). Unfortunately, I can't easily get it calibrated in Germany (latest software, correct VIN in the ECM). Can someone tell me a company where I can order the ECM already calibrated, or where I can send a new ECM and they will calibrate it for my vehicle. Thank you for your help in advance

The new ECU will come with a Stock calibration, likely 89663-04B8200 ( 04B82 ). It should be plug and play?

I'm not sure about the VIN question though. If ordering it new from Toyota, it should come with your VIN registered. If you are ordering from a 3rd party or buying used, it may need to have the VIN written? I have never messed with a replacement ECU myself. Somebody else may know more.

    Good luck!

If there is anything else that you need, let me know.

I can't remember exactly from your other thread, but I think you know how to get them in and out?

The vin is written with techstream
After swapping the ecu, you also will need to pair the immobilizer or the truck won’t start.

I thought there was an extra ECU for the immobilizer

Does the immobilizer really have to be retaught? If so, where do I do this in Techstream and where in Techstream can I register the VIN number in the ECM.
I thought the immobilizer only has to be retaught if you have new keys

Yup. Anything for the Taco can be done offline, thankfully. That has changed on newer Toyotas though.

I have programmed a new key with TS and it was very easy. I have not retaught the Immo, but I would not worry about it. I bet it is easy also. @Shellshock ?

You said something about an "unlock code" earlier?

You basically jump a pin in the odb2 and let it sit for 20 minutes

    https://youtu.be/HQXgbSUQ0Yo

you might not need to do it, but I had to on a tundra. Just something to be aware of or you’ll go crazy cuz everything will seem fine but it will just crank and never fire.

There is. But the immobilizer and ecu are paired together.
