Has anybody seen the new Dick Cepek Trail Country EXP??? Brand new tire that seems to be a toned down version of the fun country. If the fun country (for comparison’s sake) is 50% AT / 50% MT, this looks to be 75% AT / 25% MT.

I’ve been in the market for a bit and was all but settled on the Falken Wildpeak at3w. It almost seems like DC had competition with the wildpeak at3w in mind in releasing this tire, as they strike an intriguing resemblance. I decided to go with the the new dc bc of a killer deal on tire buyer. If I lived in a snowy place I’d probably feel more inclined to go with the wildpeak, but that seems to be the only obvious advantage based on preliminary observation. I took a risk, I know, considering the wildpeak is held in such high regard... I guess time will tell!

    Thoughts?

What makes you say the above?

I’m interested in this tire also and was considering Cooper St MAXX. But the price of the DC makes them very appealing.

The wildpeak has the snowflake symbol (allegedly better than m+s) and has a solid reputation for being a great snow tire as far as A/Ts go. A lot of that has to do with th copious amount of siping, which the dc has for sure, just not as much. That’s really the only thing I have to go off of - just my assumption.

There really isn’t a comparison coming from the HT tires the truck came with. Had a chance to test them out a bit on some gravel roads and new residential development mud and was pleased. Hurricane Matthew is starting to make its way to where we live (north metro ATL) so I took the tires for a quick spin in the downpour, over very wet and puddly roads and the tires chewed up giant puddles at speed like they were nothing! I was trying to hydroplane. Wasn’t happening. Road noise is not bad, but noticeable. Again, this being my first AT tire and coming from a HT I’m not sure what is “good” for most aspects, but either way I’ve been impressed! Here are some pics. I love the aggressive look and feel

Any problems with balancing or them staying balanced? Did you by chance weigh them before having them mounted? I am seriously considering these and the Cooper AT3LT load C 265 75 16. Although most have reported having good luck with D.C. tires, I had a bad experience with the Fun Country II's I ran on my Tundra. Couldn't keep them balanced for life of me. Tempted to give the D.C's another chance but really dont wanna have to change em out if they end up like my last ones.

    Any other pics of them?
Looking good on the truck by the way:thumbsup:

No balancing problems at all so far! On the website I believe it says for this tire size each tire is 50lbs. One of the reasons I went with this tire over the E rated Wildpeak was bc the DCs are a good 5lbs lighter for each tire.

Took them on a proper off-road trail for the first time this weekend and they excelled! Here’s a photo from the journey:

Nice. I am super on the fence between these and the Cooper AT3 LT c load

Yeah I know they list the weight on there site, but cant count on it being accurate. I bought some Mickey Thompson ATZP3 while back and site said56 lbs. When i got them put em on the scale and they were 64 lbs. Nice tire but never would have got it cause of the weight. Thats why I ask.

Looks like DC are big fans of the Cooper ST Maxx!! Very similar looking tire.

They do resemble one another. I Believe Cooper makes Mickey Thompson and Dick Cepek's if memory serves correct.

Think you could post a few more pics? Maybe a little closer up profile/side shot of the truck/tires and some other angles. Think I'm going to give these a go, but a few extra pics to help make up my mind would be cool. Can't find anyone else running these yet.

    Thanks

Has anyone else run this tire? I was going to be “typical” and go for the K02’s but then I saw this one on 4wheel parts and the price is very very appealing. $555 shipped to my local store. Then again the BFG’s would “only” be $130 more and there are enough experience/reviews out there to know what to expect from those

I know this is a very old post but just started to do my research for 35s and this seems to be the lightest AT tire in load E. Has anyone else given them a try, how do they last/wear and perform? Currently i'm on pizza cutters 255/85/16 and these Toyo make way too much noise for my liking also a pretty heavy tire for a 33". Website says the DCs are about 60 lbs is that true or bogus?

Just wanted to throw my two cents in here. Have this tire on my 3rd gen and they have outperformed expectations in sand, snow, mud, and rocks. Ice still leaves more to be desired, but I have been incredibly pleased with them!
