Hey gang! I’m pretty new to DIY stuff, so please forgive me as i stumble through trying to explain this issue….

The catalytic converter on my 2019 Tacoma SR5 was stolen - I purchased a new magnaflow cat to replace it.

BUT the new cat appears too short - the backpipe is maybe 4-5 inches short of meeting the muffler inlet.

I’ve triple checked that the part is correct - is this a problem with the backpipe or the muffler inlet?

Is there a way of extending the muffler inlet without having to weld it? Or can the muffler hangers be adjusted to move the muffler forward a bit? Or should I just admit defeat and take it to a shop so a pro can fix it?

I would call the manufacturer and ask them.
It sounds like you have the wrong item.

It’s an Access Cab with the 6ft bed.

I purchased the cat here - and double checked the part on magnaflow’s website - neither site included any fitment options that indicated bed length… but now that you ask, it seems likely that’s the issue.

Bummer city. I’m guessing my options are to contact magnaflow to see if they have a cat that fits a tacoma with a 6ft bed OR extend the current plumbing until it fits? :(
