Today I brought my truck for the first service, with 3,670 miles, the multipoint inspection said the Front brake pads were 10mm and the Rear 4mm, it sounds like too much to me for just 3,670 miles, or maybe it is just a measurement mistake? It is easy to miss 1mm

I guarantee they didn't actually measure your pads. They just threw something on paper because they had to.

I took mine in for my free inspection in April....they told me I need tires and brakes. I said really?!? The writer said yep and called the tech up. The tech scratched their head and said "I didnt even bring the truck in yet". They were literally going by age of the truck alone. I had just put new tires on the truck and checked the brakes myself BTW. At least the tech was honest.

When they delivered the car I open the hood to check, the "dip stick" was loose, at least 5-7 inches far from the close position, I called the advisor, he called the tech, tech didn't even say sorry, he said, no worries nothing would have happened. Then driving home I noticed the PSI for the tires was 35 vs 29 in the cluster, I had setup 29 prior, called the advisor when got home, and he said, the machine is set to 35 psi, there is nothing they can do to check, I said why did you put air if the tires were ok, he said, well, we don't measure the PSI, we just connect the compressor and put air until it stop automatically at 35 psi. This is ridiculous, I did expect something like this, but to be honest, this is too much, basic stuff. I can't imagine having them replacing the water pump or something major, it would be a mess.

Tech's are paid by the job (book time) regardless of how long it actually takes. So, it is in their best financial interest to do the job as quickly as possible.

I work for a dealer. Shop procedure is to set tires to 35 psi. This is done for several reasons. 1. Most people don't check their pressures to maintain proper pressure. 2. To help eliminate the "my tire light is on" walk ins.

IF people actually checked their pressures, we wouldn't do this. But most people are too lazy or were never taught how to. So be happy they actually set tire pressures.
