    Hello everyone,

    I have a '99 Tacoma SR5, 2.7L truck with 120,000 miles on it.
Last night, right at home, she just died on me.
Now, I got a new starter just 1 year ago, so I don't think that's the problem.
I got it started with jumper cables this morning, but as soon as I turned the car back off, it died again. The lights don't come on- nothing.

I believe the battery is dead- it was last labeled in "fair" condition when checked at the mechanic.

But, the battery is a NAPA Legend 84- there is no other information on the battery.
I'm looking on Amazon, and went to a local O'Reilly's and am not sure which battery to get to replace it with. Can anyone recommend me the right battery?

    Thank you for your time.

Anything that’s a group 24F should work. Some go with a group 27 if they are running a lot of accessories.

    Thanks for the reply.
Yeah, the guy at O'Reilly's said 24 or 35, and that I'd need to know which one- but there no indication on the existing battery.
On Amazon, they recommend a variety of 34R, sometimes 35. Same when I search on Advanced Auto Parts.
    Does it really matter much?

edit: as in, is there a specific brand/type that you'd recommend, or is of particularly good quality? Or ones to avoid?

I use Interstate as well. I get them from Costco. Less than $100 after core.

I'm just looking at the prices- Costco Interstate website recommends one type- 24F- at only $90, while the Interstate Battery offers a range, the cheapest being $140, and I'm pretty sure it's the same as offered at Costco. I was about to splash out, forgot Costco sells batteries, thanks!

The Costco Interstate battery is the same one that Toyota would sell you, and the lowest level new battery you can buy from Interstate. Just different stickers.
