    Whats up TacomaWorld!

My name is Thomas, and I work for @Backwoods Adventure Mods. For the last few years we have been one of the top manufacturers for all things Sprinter Vans armor. Recently, we have released our brand new Hi-Lite Series bumpers for 3rd Gen Tacomas.

Our front bumper features a full 26lb aluminum shell paired with a 54lb steel winch cradle - totaling only 80lbs. We have specifically designed this bumper to have the strength where you need it most while saving weight everywhere else.

Looks sick! Do you know if the Baja designs fogs will work with the front bumper?

We really tried to find a way to be able to mount a 30 inch light bar in the bumper, but because of the winch cradle and design we just couldn't make it work. We have holes in the top, however, so that you could mount a light bar or individual lights like the truck featured above!

I’m intrigued but no longer in the Tacoma club - sold my second Gen and bought a 4Runner - anything in the works for that platform?

I’m not engineer but not sure why you couldn’t? Victory 4x4, C4, CBI, etc all fit one in.

just as some market research for you, I would 100% buy your bumper it’s best of both worlds but this is the reason I’m looking else where. 3.0 version I’d def fit it in

Nice work on the bumper design and the combination of steel aluminum - seems to make a lot of sense. On your site there is a choice for frame support brackets with it. What are they? Are they required? Recommended? I just don't see anything that explains their intended function with the bumper.

Thank you! We are super happy with how they turned out. The frame brackets are not necessary, but a lot of people like to have them if they will be doing a lot of frequent and heavy winching. Its really just a matter of choice. I have never used them personally, but a lot of people like the added support.

I love the weight savings intention. Can you build it with hoops/ grille tubing?

Not currently, we are working on getting a bumper with them. With the current design, because its not flat, the sensors were pointing down and being tripped by the ground.

Its just in the way that the bumper is designed. It has the winch plate separate from the aluminum shell so its not just one piece. The winch plate sits right where the light bar would be, in this case we opted for easy access to the winch controls vs putting in a light bar. We appreciate the feedback for sure and will look to adding that in moving forward!

Loving my Backwoods bumper! I'm running their front bumper and their prototype high clearance rear dual swing out and it's siiiiick. There's some more tweaking to do on it, but it will be available soon. Full steel bumper and all aluminum doors. Perfect combo
