Wife loaded a App on her phone and just showed it to me. This stuff is all new to me but wow they sure know a lot! Her phone is showing where the truck is parked, how many miles till it runs out of gas, how many miles on it(1507 miles), doors locked, re calls, service due ect! You just can't hide anymore every one knows what your doing! You can also start it from the phone too!

That factory stuff has been around for awhile. I like those features but I hate tracking crap.

Some aftermarket companies have remote starter kit with similar features.

It was a Toyota App and is free and came with the 2022 TRD I guess? Figure at least we can see what others see anyways. For some there wife or husband can track you too! I am not worried about that been married 37 years and can't hide anything from her she knows me too well! Some say I don't want to know but they still know! I want to know what they know so it is on our phone. Not having the App does not make what they know go away just you don't get to see it if that makes you feel better. I always figure know your enemy even better then your friends! Learned that in Vietnam when I was a Kid!

Whenever I look at an app for my phone, I ask myself 3 question.
Do I really need it? Do I really want it? Will it be really useful?
I need to get a “Yes” on all 3 for the app to go on my phone.

I will go one step further and say I also check to make sure the software or app is doing only what it is suppose to. Here is a story about the Norton anti-virus software installing a crypto miner.

It's not new but Toyota started adding remote starter and other features to Entune 3.0 in some vehicles then... in 2020 (or 21) Tacomas starting having remote starter with app along with Entune 3.0.

Those of you who have Tacoma with electric seat, you are lucky! I want that seat in my '17.

    Oh look, another mod....
I assume you're talking about this app? My salesman told me about it, and I sort of like it, but don't use it that much.

I don't want anyone, like my wife to know when/where my truck is parked... LOL
But if the truck were stolen it would then be good to have.

I'm sure someone can see where I'm at by looking for my phone.

We went into a store to shop today and the phone rang? It told me I forgot to lock the truck! Pushed a button and it locked it for me. Then it rang again and said check the rear seat? We figured that was because of a possibility a person was hiding in it since we left it open. That was handy, guess if you don't want them to track you don't have a cell phone like me. Only my wife has one. As far as the truck sending information out disable the GPS Unit. There is a button I can do this called SOS and a strip of paper saying if you don't want to be tracked push the SOS Button. Just learned this reading the strip of paper that said only the owner can remove this.

    This app is trash.

Mainly because the same people who don't understand smartphones don't understand forums, lol. Sorry, not sorry. Most times I try to be helpful, but sometimes I can't even help myself

I just try to stay as polite as possible. But seriously, this app is trash - and that is me being polite.
