New to the Website and happy to be here. I Just picked up a 2009 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport and am loving it so far. 6 Spd manual and Looks like the previous owner took very good care of it. Had one question so far about the 4WD Low. When i put it in 4High it goes right in, Although when putting it into 4Low sometimes it will take a few tries to get the light to stop blinking and actually notice the lower gearing. I was told it was a common issue even with newer 2020 tacoma’s. Just curious if this is a real issue i should look into and if i can make it shift into 4Low first time every try?

Hey man! Congrats on the truck!!

this is a common mistake. Make sure you follow the instructions on the visor

From H stop the truck, put it in neautral then select Low. It should engage then back to drive.

you cannot leave the truck in drive to shift to 4Low.
    Hopefully that helps!

There are occasionally vacuum issues where you can get stuck in 4wd but seems that your issue is what’s up above
