    Hey everyone.

Recently picked up a 2012 TRD Sport DCSB frame is damn near perfect I don't see anything wrong with it. Got it with 131000 miles for about $16k out the door. Has the JBL system. Some things were already done to it. It's a mall crawler, fishing and hauling whatever kind of truck. But has a 3 inch lift nothing special just a spacer lift. 33's nitto trail grapplers I think with some XD Wheels (Not sure if I like them yet). Rough country rear shocks. A bac flip 2 tonneau cover (can't stand that POS). Had Power step bars which I took off because it's dumb, and went with stock step bars for now. Previous owner also did all LEDs in the cab so that's nice. Also has a K&N CAI But that's about it.

Things I've done in the 2 months of having it:

    1. Fixing bump steer/vibes.

Installed new Rough country UCA's, new tie rods, new sway bar links, new sway bar bushings, and did the carrier support bearing. I rotated the tires, Went and had an alignment done, and balancing and still getting an odd "front end about to fall off" when I hit bumps. Not quite sure what else to try next. New tires maybe?

Update 14May2022: found a loose intermediate shaft so this will be the next fix.

    2. Cosmetics.

Installed sequential mirror lights, 3rd gen step bars, previous owner had a light bar wiring harness so I just got 2 El Cheapo light pods in the lower grill nothing special just so I can see night fishing or whatever lol also put a switch in for the light bars. Short antenna, AC Knobs. Replaced all door speakers and tweeters, Sub will be next. Switched out the 3rd brake light with a blacked out LED one. Have LED head light and fog light bulbs.

Update 14May2022: installed sequential mirror blinkers from Amazon for $50

    3. More Cosmetics.

Painted trim pieces with "Duplicolor trim and bumper" spray paint to fix the annoying fading. Has held up really good so far. Time will tell. Repainted the tonneau cover with Rust-Oleum truck bed coating due to fading and looking like trash. Kinda polished the head lights. Either want to redo it or get blacked out headlights not sure yet. Did a quick buff, polish and ceramic wax.

Things I need to do coming up.

All fluids flushed, tune up, wants to do drilled and slotted rotors up front. Blacked out windows possibly an upgraded head unit. Maybe more but need to knock out maintenance first lol. 20220420_120959.jpg 20220420_120951.jpg

getting rid of the spacer lift might cure the front end issue.

Sounds like you've been busy since you got it. Lookin' good so far.

Dump the spacer lift and throw some 5100's in there. I bet the bump goes away after that.

Also, my vote is you get rid of those wheels lol. Regardless, great looking truck

Nice truck. I’d like to see the alignment numbers, especially the caster setting.

Done by me: decals, plastidip, and vinyl. More to come. Not done by me: Icon front/rear suspension; Total Chaos UCA’s; Method wheels/34” Falken tires; Prinsu cab rack/LED light bar; V1Air compressor piped to a 2.5 gallon underbed tank; Pelfreybilt front/rear bumpers; Smittybilt front winch.
Welcome to the 2.5 club! I’m on my second 2.5 Gen and they’ve both been the best trucks I’ve ever had, and this one is after having a 2017. For what it’s worth I feel like you got that truck for a hell of a nice price, it’s not like 130k is extreme miles on these trucks.

I'd have to look and see if I still have the paper for the alignment.

I've heard Alot about those 5100's I'll have to see if I have to sell a kidney or not should I leave the rear blocks in and just replace the fronts?. And yeah I'm not really sure about the wheels for sure. I like the SCS wheels In a bronze I think would look good.

Yeah I'm not scared of a Yota with 6 digits on the dash lmao

Spacer lift + wide LT tires + 18 in rims, good combo for an interesting drive.

Welcome to the 2.5 club! Best truck ever built in my humble opinion with the 4.0 liter and non-hunting transmission that is in your wife's rig. No shade to the truck, I just prefer the standard old school tranny. On my 2nd 2.5, currently with 54k. First one gave me 311k glorious miles.

IMO, you can do the fronts first and see if the ride is to your liking. Upgrade the rear at a later date if you choose to. The blocks in the rear aren't pre-loading the springs like the blocks in the front do.

Maybe watch your local Craigslist or other local sellers market and find some front struts shocks that are barely used. Seems to show up on my local raider pretty often.

Nice that sounds more like something my bank account can handle. Found new 5100's for $104 a piece plus a 5% coupon so might have to pull the trigger. My wife now wants 5100's for hers now lmao

Did it finally. Upgraded the fronts to the 5100's and love it lost ½" lift from my spacers but not noticable to the eye. Had a lot of fun getting the previous owners spacers out though. Cut off wheel was involved
