I have a DieHard 31M battery that is starting to fail...it was manufactured in April 2014. All the Sears around me are closing and I haven’t found any DieHard 31M sources. Went to batteries and bulbs, ordered an Odessey 31M but it arrived and the posts are reversed and I don’t think I have enough battery cable length to reach if I put the battery in 180 degrees where the positive post is closest to the engine.

Any suggestions on a source for a DieHard 31M or other battery solution or safe way to extend battery cables?

I have extensive added electronics so having the additional marine type posts is rather important.

    Thanks!

yeah, looked at Autozone and Walmart and none match post placement.

the Kmart link you posted, the posts are on the front, the DieHard post are along the back long edge.

I bought the X2 group 31 battery from Batteries+. I did have to extend the wires a bit, but I'm very happy with the battery.

You can get the Extenders from Amazon for $15 I'm not a big fan of doing it that way on something that see all kinds of weather due to more connections to worry about I had to do that to a Old Benz I had because the original group type battery was no longer available but that car never saw bad weather

I can't, but I can describe it. The negative cable would reach, except that the bolt broke off where it screws into the inner apron, so I got a battery cable with a ring terminal on both ends and attached it to the battery stud and to a hole in the apron back by the mastercylinder.

The positive cable that goes to the starter will reach if you cut the loom open slightly where the cable enters the loom and also move the loom up some where it's clamped in the holder. This will make the cable go over the end of the battery. The biggest issue is the cable that goes to the fusebox. For now, I got about a 6" long small battery cable with ring terminals on both ends, bolted it to the ring terminal on the existing cable, and taped the everlivin' daylights out of the connection. Be aware that this cable is not fused, so route it carefully. Later when I have the fusebox apart doing other stuff, I will put a longer cable in it.
