It would probably be better if I just didn't do any research and slapped these wheels and tires on my Tacoma. Then I at least would have an excuse. But actually I did my due diligence and my understanding is 285s would fit. Anyway I have a 2005 Tacoma and I put a 3/2 lift on it and 285/70R17 BFG KO2 and Fuel Ammo wheels with +1 offset. They did a body chop and pretty much gutted the front fender well. It originally rubbed when I was going straight and went up a driveway. They did a little more work and now it rubs (pretty badly) when I turn the wheels going up driveways or any medium sized bump or larger. Options? Change tires and maybe wheels? Lift it more? A little of both?
    I appreciate any input.
    Thanks

    Tire/wheel combo is tooo wide.

Try a - (negative) offset......just a bit, don't swing to the other end of the pendulum.

I am now running 285/75/R16 General Grabbers (same size when in a 17inch rim). I am running a -12 offset rim because the stock wheels would have rubbed the UCA (upper control arm). What exactly are you rubbing on your body/cab mount, upper control arm, or is this just a matter of doing some more trimming?

Worst-case scenario you'll need to run spacers.

It depends on where you're rubbing. If your tire is too sucked in, you'll rub the upper control arm. The fix for this is to add wheel spacers. Just be mindful that by doing this, you'll increase your rubbing elsewhere in the wheel well.

If you're rubbing elsewhere in the wheel well, just identify where and cut/hammer it out of the way so it doesn't rub. Look for wear marks on plastic or with the truck stopped, turn the wheel back and forth and look where it's close.

Thank you for the replies. The rubbing is in the rear aspect of the front wheel well when turning and going over something like a driveway. There is a thin plastic wheel well liner that covers the rear metal wheel well housing. There is a seam of metal just below the wheel well liner. I am not rubbing the uca. It sounds like more trimming and maybe hammering the metal wheel well housing back so the seam is no longer an issue. I am assuming nothing vital is under there that would be damaged with a little banging.

Also the body/cab mount has been chopped and welded so it is out of the way.

Yes that is it. It looks to be the biggest problem (at least right now). Thank you
