    Hello,

I'd like to replace my current fog lights in my Tacoma with yellow fog lights and I'm curious to know what you all have? Where should I get them? Does it make a difference, improves the look of the truck?

I'll second DD SS3's. I have been very pleased with them and trying to convince my wife to let me put them on her 5th gen.

Edit: Guess I'm fourthing(?) the DD SS3s. Mine are the Sport.

unless it’s something like expensive DD then yellow probably filters out light.

can’t justify that kind of coin on lights right now
So gonna run stock ARB Fogs.

they make Hella H3 yellow bulbs for $20 a pack but at that point why, if the stock bulbs still work.

yes best performance would probably be SS3 max or pro fogs and brackets to make them fit.

never had a use case to justify. Some fog is occasional.
Only major fog I ever encountered was driving to Black Bear Pass and it was so insane that I don’t think any light would’ve made a difference in the reduction of speed it necessitated to get through the patch of it.

DD SS3's are pretty great. in any sort of bad weather or bad visibility they're so much better than the headlights. but they're expensive.

If you have the OEM halogen fogs, consider getting a roll of 1mil kapton tape. It will self adhere to the lens and filter a halogem to the correct "selective yellow" color for use in bad weather. If your fogs are the later model year H16 baed lamps, consider switching to a set of the earlier H11 fog lamps, as they sre much higher performing lamps. Don't use an H9 in them, as there is no internal bulb shield to deal with glare.

I’ve been running the diode dynamic sports for like 3 years now. They’ve been great.

I got yellow fog light cover film from Amazon. Easy and very inexpensive.

Lots of love for ss3's in here. I have SS3 pros for my fogs and to be honest I would have gone sport or max the light output between the sport and pros are identical the pro has more up light and not as sharp of a cut off. Still happy with the light just not what I would do for a fog light again. It causes extra glare when used in actual fog or snow on the road but works great on the trail having extra up light.

Love my Diode Dynamics SS3 Sports. Got them with the amber backlight, too.

And everyone else on the road hates you for not running a street legal light. I had the squadron in a wide cornering and it does not have a place in street use. Great light for off road use. Their new sae fog looks really interesting though.

another +1 on the DD SS3 amber color. I have them in the pros with backlight. they help a ton at night and its really all you need for normal street driving.

If you install them please point them at the appropriate angle. I cant tell you how many times ive been blinded by tacoma fog lights on the road. Even though the DD are SAE rated, I would still vouch to aim them a bit lower especially if you are lifted.

I was just going to say this. Not trying to be a prick by any means, but those blind the hell out of oncoming traffic. Plus, they don't work very well as a "fog light". However they are great off-road.

I’ve also got the Diode Dynamics DD3 Pros and they’ve been great. My understanding is the Sports don’t get hot enough to melt snow, so keep that in mind if you live where there’s a winter.

I had Pros and never had them ice over, I switched to ss3 Max which are even better.

I will say this is if you plan on using them for in town driving go Sport or Max.
The Pros don't have a clean cut off line and you are more likely to upset other road users. I would get high beams flashed at me all the time driving with the Pros on, I had them aimed down as far as they could go, but since switching to Max I've never had an issue.
