I have already replaced the bulbs in the tail lights but feel that I need more light. I purchased some flush mounting LED lights but the bumper isn't thick enough to mount them in, so I'm thinking about putting just 1 to the right of the license plate.

My slight OCD is kicking in and I can't decide if just 1 light would drive me crazy or not. What do you guys think? Going to attach a quick photoshop job to get an idea of what it would look like.

I like that, that's not a bad idea that plus the two led lights in the reverse lights but would you just wire that light into the reverse lights I'm assuming?

Yeah that's what I'm thinking. I would have to get advice from someone that knows electrical systems a little better than me, but I don't think it would draw enough current to be an issue? If so, I guess I could add a relay to be safe, but would have to find a large enough power source to power them without having to run wires all the way back to the battery. Either that or tap into the factory trailer wiring harness.

Ya you would defiantly need a relay and a inline fuse for sure. But tapping into the backup lights should be fine depending on the what that led light output is and how much power it draws!

I like the idea but I have a case of OCD and wouldn't be able to have just the one by itself.

2 is key if you end up getting a topper.

Looks good, the problem is on the 3rd gen there's not enough room in the bumper to mount them. Beside the tag is really the only space big enough to make it work.

Gotcha. 2nd gen has those spots just big enough to get those in. It's tight back there

@jonnyozero3 Yeah S2 Pro flush mounts. They come in a few variations: white/black housing, amber/white led, and flood/spot/driving options.

Yeah, lots of options. That flood one would be heinous on other drivers in parking lots I think, lol.

What are those, 10 maybe 20W LEDs? You've already changed the stock bulbs to LED, so you've probably cut that many watts out anyway. No need for a relay for that.

With the flush mount led being beside the license plate, I'm sure at night when its powered on while its in reverse, it will be in view of the rear view camera... Would the glare make the camera nearly useless?

After looking at the actual bumper supports it looks like there is no good place to mount reverse lights. I think i will try mounting them in the tailgate :D

Does anyone have install instructions on how to install the flush mounted lights and tie them in to the reverse lights?
