I have never been to Harbor Freight but in this case you might be right. Depends on what you are using it for. If it is for construction stuff, the Harbor Freight one is rated for 350LBS. I check the Thule Web site and the Goalpost is only rated for 165LBS. But that is really for canoes and kayaks, etc.

    Ordered this guy off Amazon.

7BLACKSMITHS Folded Truck Bed Hitch Extender Extension Rack Pick Up 2" Hitch Receiver 400lb

    $90.00 Free Ship

Pros: As Described, three bolts and nylon lock nuts included. Weights 38#. It's made in China (sigh, but expected at the price).

Con: Hitch pin not including. Pin and clevis included ("T" folds up, need to secure) I can not use the clevis, too snug to clip the pin. Needs more reflective safety tape on the side for visibility.

For the pin I'll get something like this:

The photo shows my 6' bed, tape measure at 10'. I need to haul some 14' decking boards, so this does the trick.

I use Baltic Plywood (5' x 5 or those 5' x 10' sheets -- 1.5m x 3m). Those "corner hooks" give a place for tie-downs to attach, but those sheets are at an angle (side against the wheel well other on the cap) so this still lets me secure that load.
