My 01 prerunner 3rz-fe with 325k miles threw bearing from balance shaft yesterday.i have 3rz with coilpack in every single plug.
I found wrecked 00 prerunner 3rz-fe low miles with dual coil on the side of the motor (one coil feeds two wires)
My question will this motor will work with my coilpack motor? Do i need to swap harness and ecu also? I dont want to risk it it didnt fit.the wrecked tacoma has been tested and runs good

    Hello,

Yeah if you have a 4 coil on plug motor this one will swap just fine, you'll have to reuse the wiring harnes and valve cover from your motor though so you can mount the coil on plug setup. There's probably some little things that will have to be swapped (mostly just little intake manifold things). My advice is to change your fuel filter while the engine is out of the truck, that's the easiest time to get to it.

Another option is LC Engineering sells a balance shaft delete kit (you don't need them they're just for added smoothness at idle) but with a shredded bearing like that one it may have left some nasty stuff in your oil passages too.
