Need some help, does anyone know if I can run 285/70/17 on these FJ rims on a 09 tacoma with a 3" lift? Not really sure the back spacing. Any information would be appreciated.

Come on, I know someone is running these FJ rims? I know 265/70/17 fits because that's what im currently running. Trying to fit 285's if possible?

Measure backspacing. Don't know about those particular rims.

Not heard of anyone running 285's that didn't need to do at least a little trimming.

3" lift EIBACH coils w/ 5100's front, OME/ Dakar leaf springs w/ toytec adjustable shackles at 1.5" and 5125's out back. 33x10.5x15 KM2's Relentless DIY steel bumper.
I would think the biggest concern would be if the wider tires on stock wheels would rub the coils or UCA's? Might want to figure that out first. If so, then it's nothing's some spider-trax spacers can't fix

I'm having a 4wheel shop set my truck up with a 3" front and a 2" spacer for the back. I'm getting 17" DC2's and 285/70/17 Trail Grapplers. Does anyone know if 16" DC2's will clear the calipers on a 2014 Tacoma. If so wouldn't this give me a little more wheel house room and less trimming? I'm just trying to make a good judgment call on this.

Depends what the specs are on the new wheels? Typically aftermarket wheels have less backspace than stock wheels so wider tires will clear the calipers. But just depends on the wheel specs of the DC2's

Oops I read your last post incorrectly. I thought you were asking about the tires rubbing because of back spacing. But as for calipers I've heard some 16's do rub on 2nd gens. If that's the case typically a small 1/4" spacer will do the trick and get you the caliper clearance you need.
